Helmed by world-renowned drum & bass and reggae DJ Liondub, the Liondub Internatonal imprint has made massive strides since it's inception. Releasing a steady stream of top-shelf material from a growing stable of producers and vocalists, it has become a go-to source for emerging, top-notch music at the nexus of reggae, dubstep and drum & bass sounds. Sugar Minott is a hard act to follow, but there could be none better than Judah Eskender Tafari. Coming up at the height of roots reggae music, Judah first performed as a musician at 12 Tribes shows in Jamaica and later recorded his first big releases at Studio 1. Beginning with "Jah Light", he went on to record other hit songs like "Rastafari Tell You", "Always Trying" and "Just Another Day". These tracks and many more have gained him international notoriety in the past 30 years and lead up to his work with Ras Kush's Black Redemption label. In all of his music Ras Kush delivers a positive message of Faith, Hope and Charity. 

NYC based keyboardist, engineer, and producer Victor Axelrod, aka Ticklah, has been a continual and integral part of the NYC music scene for over a decade. He is a founding member of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Antibalas and the Easy Star All-Stars with whom he continues to record and perform. In the past several years he has recorded keys for Mark Ronson, D'Angelo, Estelle, MIA as well as the Amy Winehouse. In addition to Liondub45 he has released his own work on the NYC reggae label Easy Star. Wether its a dubbed-out Sharon Jones remix or an original groove built form the ground up, Ticklah's tracks are always captivating and rich with sonic detail.  

Originally released as the b-side to "Life" on Black Redemption, Land Of Confusion was voiced at Ticklah's studio and released in 2007. Three years later, Ticklah has arranged a new instrumental track around the vocal, adding his own signature out-board effects, percussion and keyboard harmonies to the conscious lyrics of the "Commander". The resulting track and version are a musical gem; melding the dub experimentation of Creation Steppers with the inimitable spirit of Studio 1 and Soul Syndicate. It's no surprise then that Jah Shaka has offered steady support for this track on his soundsystem time and time again! Three years in the making and well worth the wait, Land of Confusion is a must have for all fans of dub reggae and roots music worldwide.

Wise Dub (feat. BuzzRock) - Suns of Dub

“Snatch A Style” is a short, previously unreleased bridging track, that can be found on the new 'Sherwood At The Controls Vol 2: 1985 - 1990' compilation. A small snippet of rhythm found on one of the many decaying quarter-inch reels in the label’s vaults that are currently being lovingly transferred and restored to life by DJ and On-U archivist Patrick Dokter. Most likely caught on tape whilst warming up for another session, in less than a minute it ably shows off the killer chops of Roots Radics and Dub Syndicate mainman, Lincoln Valentine ‘Style’ Scott. Tragically, Scott was gunned down at his home in Jamaica in 2014 - an incomprehensible act of brutality and a huge waste of musical talent.

Capital Letters followed up their well received return to live touring by releasing brand new music with 2015's “Wolverhampton” and it's dub counterpart. Since then, they've continued to perform their authentic brand of British reggae to enthusiastic audiences across Europe as well as at home in the UK. Despite a busy touring schedule, the band found time to write and record new material. Fans will be glad to know that a brand new album is in the pipeline, but we thought we'd treat everyone to a tasty appetiser in the shape of brand new track “Judgement Day” released as a limited edition four track vinyl 12”.
      Capital Letters were formed more than forty years ago and so it seemed appropriate to entrust the mixing of “Judgement Day” to  someone with  similar longevity in reggae, Bristol reggae stalwart Chris Potter, better known by his pseudonym Compendulum. This isn't the first meeting between Compendulum and Capital Letters, Chris previously remixed the band's “Jah Music” for his eponymous compilation album released in 2016.
       Given such a strong track to work with, Chris has kept things simple serving up double helpings of vocal and dub aiming for the feel of exclusive dub plate mixes. The vocals carry the deep message of roots reggae at it's best, repent, repent, repent! JB's vocals fit perfectly the serious theme, “do some good today, good will follow you”, if you want redemption then live a good life; the biblical imagery and Rastafarian message is underpinned by deep, deep bass and propulsive percussion.
       Both dub mixes reject modern gimmickry and are firmly planted in the classic old school dub mould, bass lines, percussion and stereo effects to the fore whilst making good use of the apocalyptic feel of the vocals. To this listener, “Drub A Drub Version 4” sounds like something of a homage to early eighties Sly and Robbie or at least something influenced by their dub workouts and for me that's no bad thing, the fact that Compendulum’s mix is reminiscent of the rhythm twins is no mean complement.
        This is a twelve inch that works on multiple levels; it's a classic slice of Capital Letters to keep their fans happy until the full album drops. Its great roots reggae vocals, its classic dub mixing and more than enough weight to keep all sound men happy, a record that will appeal to everyone.

Forty one years after Lee "Scratch" Perry defined dub music with his iconic 1976 Super Ape album, he returns with New York City's Subatomic Sound System to conquer the bass generation. Subatomic reincarnates the magic of Perry's Black Ark studio in Jamaica, going in heavy on Ethiopian horns & percussion, reinvigorated by booming 21st century bass & beats to capture the energy of their innovative live electronic show and vibes of the urban jungle. The original album is a cornerstone in the development of independent, producer fueled, beat and bass driven music. This new album breaks ground of its own as Perry & Subatomic create an unprecedented level of dynamic improvisation between live performers, computers, and studio manipulation, exploding traditional concepts of what is a live performance versus a studio recording. Of course, Dubblestandart have been keeping a version of the dub flame alive for the last two decades. Formed in 1988 as a reaction to the stagnant Austrian pop scene, the group was heavily inspired by the Black Ark, On-U Sound and Jah Shaka, infusing such dub influences within their heady blend of hardcore reggae and new wave, which soon brought them into the European public’s consciousness and as a kind of  „European“ version of the famous DUB SYNDICATE.  Soon, they were so in demand as to be backing Lee Scratch Perry, dub poet Lilian Allen, Dillinger, Ari Up, Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, Chezere and orthers.

Baldini´s stunning excursion into deep dub, chilling dub and dubble-tough dub will reach the DubFiles into perfection @ DUB ME CRAZY. 
	Paolo Baldini’s handling of this mission has been exemplary: his production and remixing skills are pleasingly individualistic, retaining plenty of originality and professionalism without seeming stoic, dull or contrived. His collaborations with Mellow Mood, Hempress Sativa, Dub Fx and others are showing faith of what DUB is living for. Since 2007 Paolo Baldini works under the top level name „Alambic Conspiracy“ and became world class dub extraordinary performer, bass player, mixologist, producer and provocateur...!
