A new series of mixes recorded live at I'm A House Gangster events around the world, IAHG LIVE 01 has two masters at the controls - Mark Farina and DJ Sneak playing back-2-back at the IAHG party at Studio 80 Amsterdam, recorded in August 2013 at the IAHG party.

Sneak and Mark Farina will join forces again on 9th November at the annual Sneak's Birthday Beats party in Toronto.  Also on the bill are Amine Edge & DANCE, Riviera and Mike Gleeson.

Last month on the 13th of October, we invited house music hero & all round good guy Derrick Carter to bring his 'Derrick Does Disco' party to the Sub Club helping to celebrate GLASGAY! 20th Anniversary.

The source of many a man-crush (particularly from our local DJ geeks and record freaks) our sexy affair with Derrick has spanned a good couple of decades. Perhaps it’s his desirable physique, that intense beaded brow around 2am or his disarmingly charming manliness from the moment we met him off the plane.

Either way we’re always hot for him and so was everyone in the crowd who joined us as we got down and dirty in a darkened room and showed each other some serious loving, with no strings attached till 3am.

With Derrick in control for the full four hours we had to get the roadblocks out. Here is an hour of this amazing set specially picked out by the one man block party himself.

About the CD:
So this came out of the blue in 2000 and was a new mix compilation that gained a lot of fans not just from its unique theme (what's not to like!) and retro artwork which stood out on the shelves. Not only that but the music was damn good too. Dimitri from Paris delivers a driving soulful collection which had its own unique flavour and was perfect for nights out, driving, after parties and whatever else. Shout out to Just Lance in Dubai for reminding us about this one!

So our good friend Allie Williams recommended this CD ages ago and it's taken a while for us of get it of him... (or in this case not!) so we bought it ourselves. As fellow huge Derrick Carter fans it's safe to say this is another excellent mix cd and takes it's well deserved place in The Classic Mix CD Series. Ahead of our appearance on the 8th October at Defected Malta where we host a house foundations (86-96) stage, Stuart Patterson has compiled a mix of some Faith favourites from the period.  100% vinyl it takes in early vocals from Intense, Tammy Banks and Velma Wright, deepness from Precious and Swing 52.  Darker and tribal sounds from Funky Green Dogs and Kiwi Dreams, a touch of wild pitch from DJ Pierre in his Phuture Scope guise and a drop of acid from The Endless Poker. Plus plenty more early house joints that help shaped the house music phenomenon  that still stands strong today.
