@RalphLawson from @2020Vision made his Sub Club debut on the very same night as a young Glaswegian DJ called Domenic Cappello in 1992.  He has since been a regular guest over the years while Domenic went on to become the resident DJ for Subculture. It seems fitting that both 2020Vision and Subculture celebrate 20 years in the game in 2014 as they have both stuck to their guns and consistently provided people with sounds from the underground over those years. 

This mix was recorded the week before 2020Vision brought their Content tour to Subculture on October 4th with Lawson and Ejeca taking over the controls. Lawson dives into his memories of times spent in The Subbie over those years and pulls out a selection of bona fide classics that have rocked the club. Recorded in one take to get a live feel. Rick Wade is one of those electronic music producers who deserves the honorific title of "maestro." Listening to his music unlocks vibes, sensations, triggered by a deep knowledge of music that is impossible to reproduce without doing the work. The same, I think, goes for his DJ sets. 

This mix series, Sanctify, was created with a sound like Rick Wade's in mind: warm, analog-sounding deep house. "Late Night Basix" could be an alternate title. Though we started with others, Rick Wade drew the blueprint for this.

Fue un verdadero desafío intentar plasmar esos 'diálogos mentales', especialmente desde el plano meditativo en el que suelo encontrarme cuando produzco. Sin embargo, debo admitir que el resultado final me sorprende gratamente hasta a mí mismo. Siento que este track fue hecho para invitar a ver más allá, a conectar con algo más profundo, fuera de la estructura músical que nos rodea hoy en día.

'Diálogos Mentales' es un viaje sonoro progresivo, profundo y de cadencia pausada. Se despliega sobre un groove hipnótico y una atmósfera misteriosa que evoluciona constantemente, llevándote desde las texturas más clásicas de la electrónica instrumental hasta su corazón: un break donde la tensión cede. Allí, una melodía serena toma el centro del escenario, ofreciendo un momento de pura calma, presencia y contemplación, antes de que el ritmo retorne con delicadeza para cerrar el círculo.
