Yemanjo - La Voz De La Tierra

After weeks of dark and gloomy days, Hekske (the little witch) was delighted to wake up under a glorious sunrise.  For the first time this winter, temperatures had dropped below zero and the whole forest was covered under a mesmerizing layer of ice crystals.  Falke (the 9 year old witch apprentice) had once again snuggled under the moss blanket of the witch to keep warm.  At that moment, the little witch realized it was the very day of the winter solstice, which is always a wonderful day filled with mystic rituals.  This year’s winter solstice was extra powerful as it coincided with a full moon.
After drinking a warm cup of herbal tea, the 2 barefoot witches (accompanied by their trusted friend Bob The Owl) went to the sacred place where the little oak tree was growing.  Although this tiny tree was only 3 feet high, it was destined to live for a thousand years and become the future mother tree of the forest.  The little oak was being guarded 24/7 by Lalita, a tree nymph from South-East Asia, who gave a warm welcome hug to Hekske and Falke.
Lalita took a beautiful crow’s plume and a flacon with magic ink, getting ready for a body painting session.  It was Falke’s very first time and she was of course very excited.  Hekske took the feather,  dipped it in the ink pot and drew a few flames on Falke’s feet and lower legs.  She had learned these flame symbols from the Eldnorns, fire witches from Iceland.  Within seconds, Falke experienced the power of the magic ink while her legs and feet became pleasantly warm and the symbols themselves emitted an intense orange glow.  After that, the magic feather decided to make a drawing on Falke’s back.  The little witch held the feather in her hand, but she didn’t control its movements.  At first it wasn’t clear what the pen was drawing, and only after a few minutes the women could see that the feather was drawing a mysterious portal, half rock and the other half an old thick oak tree.
At that moment, the earth started to tremble and the surrounding trees started to shake.  To their bewilderment, the 3 girls saw a huge rock emerging from under the ground with a loud rumble.  A few minutes later, the rock stopped moving and an eerie silence descended upon the forest.  Falke, Hekske and Lalita were speechless and petrified.  The rock was actually some kind of pillar and was standing upright, around 3 meter tall.  
After a few minutes, the forest animals emerged from their shelters and Pegasus, the old wise fox, observed the giant rock with great interest.  He concluded that this must have been the prehistoric menhir of which some age-old stories existed.  It appears to have been buried under the ground for centuries.  This discovery confirmed the old legends that this spot used to be a holy place in ancient times.  At that moment, Hekske looked at the drawing on Falke’s back, and she noticed that the standing rock had exactly the same shape as the menhir.  But that was still only one half of the gate, so where was the oak tree which formed the other half?  Then it dawned to the 3 women that the tiny oak tree was standing just 2 meters away from the menhir, and a branch seemed already to have grown a few centimeters into the direction of the giant stone. It is so nice to put out a mix on soundcloud again, after a very long break. Due to personal reasons and a giving my focus more to live performances, I neglected my favorite platform a bit.

This set is the first of my new mix series for Proton Radio- "As within so Without". On that sunny morning in early September, Hekske – the little witch - woke up when the first sunrays kissed her cheek.  She immediately got up from her bed of moss and started preparing the morning tea with the help of Falke – the 10-year old witch apprentice – and a family of squirrels.  After drinking tea, the girls made their daily inspection round of the forest.  It hadn’t rained since early June and the forest was bone dry and some trees were already shedding their leaves.  Many plants and insects had already succumbed to the drought and even the oldest owls had never experienced such a long dry spell.
After completing their tour of the forest, Hekske suddenly felt the urge to fly.  She quickly kissed goodbye to Falke and to the nymph Lalita and took off from a clearing.  She knew she would – as always – reach her destination by simply following her inner compass.  This time she flew in Southeastern direction, until she sensed she had reached her destination. The little witch landed on a meadow near the spot where the river Iller flows into the mighty Danube river, where she was welcomed by 9 other witches.  After a long welcome hug, the eldest witch explained that all women came from a different wind direction and had converged to form a yoni circle.  Then she led all witches into a nearby forest.  Hekske immediately saw that this place was as dry as her home forest in Flanders.  The women followed a dry stream bed to higher ground, until they reached the well, which had unfortunately dried up.  This was a very disturbing event as even the oldest witch (653 years of age) didn’t remember this well ever running dry.  At that moment an 11th witch gently descended from the sky.  Now the yoni circle was complete.  The new witch was really special, as she had a golden brown skin and had a mix of Indonesian and African features.  She explained that she came from Madagascar, the huge island in the Indian Ocean which had been separated from the rest of the world for 80 million years, resulting in a unique flora and fauna.  But most of all, the Malagasy witch was pregnant, which led to elated reactions of the 10 other witches.
Normally, all witches take a communal bath before starting with the ceremonies, but because of the extreme drought, they skipped this part.  So they just shucked off their immaculately white dresses and the 10 witches aligned themselves in a circle around the pregnant witch, who was standing on top of the dry well.  The 10 witches held hands in a circle and started to sing mystic age-old songs about the power of the yoni.  The little witch felt the pure and divine yoni energy descend into her body, and closed her eyes every now and then to feel it even better.  The eldest witch led the ceremony and mentioned between 2 rituals that the witch who was bound to get pregnant next, would be receiving a sign towards the end of the ceremony.  Just at that moment, 10 beautiful butterflies descended from the sky.  Instinctively, all witches in the circle stretched out their hand and one butterfly landed on each hand.  The little witch was amazed to see that these were rhetus arcius butterflies, a mysterious species with a deep black color and mesmerizing intensely blue stripes and wing tails.  These butterflies only show up on very special occasions and the little witch looked in awe at the delicate insect on her hand.  After a few minutes, the 10 butterflies took off simultaneously and started hovering above the Malagasy witch.  This was the sign to start the next round of ceremonies, and the 10 witches touched the beautiful round belly of their pregnant sister, before performing some powerful vulva rituals.  The little witch had never felt such a pure energy and felt so connected with mother nature…

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome Djjuliimmaï (@juliimmai)

djjuliimmaï‘s musical style is as capricious and diver- se as life itself. Variations of house and minimalism blend smoothly with ritualistic music from around the globe. 

His DEEP HYPNOTIC SOUNDS mesmerizes crowds, turning the dance floor into a spiritual place. The element of hypnosis is key in Juli‘s idea and performance of electronic music.

Born 1982 in Lübeck, serendipitously on the day of a massive city festival, it didn‘t take very long for Juli to become a resident DJ at the Lübecker Eishaus Club at the age of 18.

After moving to Berlin in 2006, he was deeply inspired by a then rapidly evolving techno scene. Heavily influenced by the famous Bar 25 and the Fusion Festival, djjuliimmaï took his experience to Freiburg, then run- ning the White Rabbit Club. 

From there, in 2016, the record-spinning hypnotist launched his own series of club & festival events Moody Music and Kundalini Express.

The events also took off internationally and djjuliimmaï fell in love with the Hungarian music scene. He spent years there, maintaining the local underground music scene by organizing events in plenty of Hungarian venues for electronic music: › Feszek › Kert › Lärm › il Panorama.

This included curation, sound engineering, lighting- & stage design, and also catering. Because of his deep love for festivals, Juli‘s most cherished moments were his performances at the Sziget Festival, Taka Tuka and the Ozora Festival, where he‘s been a resident DJ ever-since.

San Miguel’s musical signature is defined by his various interests and influences of his travels through time and space which manifests itself into a soundscape of hypnotic spheres and deep driven basses. Often combined with folkloric elements and a range of organic instruments, his sound weaves unique tales that carries the audience gently and straight into an ecstatic dance experience. 

He is a master for clashing the styles and shows a deep instinct for timing and suspense as he draws a bow throughout his mixes that will move any dance-floor that thrives on powerful global beats and psychedelic rhythms. 

That special composition led him release his own productions on labels such as Lump Records, Underyourskin Records, Pipe & Pochet, LNDKHN, Cosmic Awakenings, Serafin Audio Imprint and Souq Records.

Together with LaniRose (@lanirose_monada), he launched his second electronic music label and sonic community „MŎNɅDɅ“ (@monada-project) in 2018, based by the philosophical monad as expression of the pure eternal essence which exists in every living being. 

Featuring talents from all over the earth, the label provides a playground for hand-picked and visionary sounds, expressing multicultural and contemporary beauty in modern simplicity.

"Pérola Branca is the project formed by the producers @gutopedigone and @mandruvamusic , longtime friends and creators of several underground parties in Minas Gerais, Brasil.
The name means "White Pearl" in portuguese, which came out, actually, from an LSD trip when they both could see a shiny weird pattern though a piece of glass but spent 2 hours trying to describe the details.
After this peculiar process and agreeing they were both seeing an white perl, they realised that they were seeing the same thing but in a completely different way. The Pérola Branca is, after all, the concept of how people see the world through their own lenses, experience it in their own way and, still, are able to have empathy with untranslatable and unique feelings."

About Mari Boine (http://www.mariboine.no/)
She was born and raised in Gámehisnjárga, a village on the river Anarjohka in Karasjok municipality in Finnmark, in the far north of Norway. Boine's parents were Sami. The Sami people, also spelled Sámi or Saami, are the Arctic indigenous people inhabiting Sápmi, which today encompasses parts of far northern Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Kola Peninsula of Russia, and the border area between south and middle Sweden and Norway. 
Their traditional languages are the Sami languages and are classified as a branch of the Uralic language. They made a living from salmon fishing and farming. She grew up steeped in the region's natural environment, but also amidst the strict Laestadian Christian movement with discrimination against her people: for example, singing in the traditional Sami joik style was considered "the devil's work".  Sami languages, and Sami song-chants, called yoiks, were illegal in Norway from 1773 until 1958…in Russia, Sami children were taken away when aged 1–2 and returned when aged 15–17 with no knowledge of their language and traditional communities. 
As Boine grew up, she started to rebel against the prejudiced attitude of being an inferior "Lappish" woman in Norwegian society.
Boine's songs are strongly rooted in her experience of being in a despised minority. She allways give a positive message thru her music, often singing of the beauty and wildness of Sapmi (Lapland). The title track of 'Gula Gula' asks the listener to remember 'that the earth is our mother.  On 7 October 2012, Boine was appointed as a "statsstipendiat", an artist with national funding, the highest honour that can be bestowed upon any artist in Norway.

A souvenir from an Ecstatic Dance session i organised and played at the wild nature next to my home at the far north of israel. words cant describe the enchanted atmosphere we had there after a rainy day and being so close to cancel it all. in act of magic the sky got clear and 70 beautiful souls got together and danced under sky with candles light free and protected by the spirit of nature. i give thanks.

I’m an eclectic DJ based in Liverpool, UK, originally from Istanbul, Türkiye. My passion lies in blending melodic sounds across genres like deep house, tech house, melodic house, afro house, lo-fi, garage, downtempo, world music, disco, and soul.

Someone once described my sound as “trippy yet groovy” and I think that still sums it up pretty well.

While my live sets are more dancefloor-oriented, I love creating mixes for streaming that are better suited to home listening.
