Here we are in February, winter and its cold climate are still with us, and the monochrome tones outside are conducive to introspection and poetry; reading by the fireside, thinking about the hitherto unknown places we could imagine through this mental cartography, made up of millions of electrical channels, like those of our brain networks, and in which signals and other acoustic waves mix and weave, fractalising data. It is in this way and at this crossroads that we might discover this new mix, sewn like lace by the emerging and talented Norwegian artist Henrii Havaas, who offers us an hour of music at once teeming with detail and perfectly balanced, between macro-rhythms, sound-design, tribal grooves and evocative atmospheres. In his own words… 

Time marches on… Sometime around 2007, Geo told me they were building something massive, the likes of which the playa had never seen. That summer, we were among a handful of artists who played that very first year on Robot Heart. We dropped Sade and Prince, played for hours, and from that moment on, there was no looking back. The Wolf + Lamb sound was reborn that morning.

This set was my first time playing back in the bus in over a decade, and what a thrill it was to close the burn with my crew and the Robot Heart fam. Massive love and thanks for the support, boys and girls. What a ride!

skyra is one of the local artists who has put Georgia's underground scene firmly on the map. His regular appearances at Tbilisi's cult Bassiani club have been key to that, and in August, he will showcase exactly what he's all about when he plays live for us at Selectors with Hamatsuki: deep but driving house music that's bathed in lush melodics but never short on low-end power. Next year, he has plenty of music coming up, including a release on Unforeseen with Hamatsuki.

To get you in the mood for all that is to come, he has laid down a one-hour live showcase that layers up smooth, supple, seductive drums with dreamy pads and neon melodies. The whole set glows with a late-night warmth and finds a perfect balance between beauty and beat-driven hypnosis.
