Urban Assault (aka Faust & Shortee) have been a powerhouse in the DJ/Production world for the last 20 years electrifying audiences on a global scale. Specializing in the grimy beats & filthy bass line genres of Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Drumstep, Trap, Glitch Hop and Electro House, this dynamic duo continues to awe masses worldwide both in the studio & on stage complete with live 4 turntable DJ trick sets scratched to perfection.

Ranked as one of the top 5 Turntablists in the world by SPIN Magazine, Faust released the first turntablist album in history, the critically lauded Man Or Myth and continues to push the boundaries of his production today in various genres. Shortee is acknowledged as one of the most diverse, technically skilled female DJs in the world, described as “The World’s Premier Female DJ” by the Grammy Foundation and named “Queen of the Scratch World” by DJ Times.

Both were featured in the award-winning documentary “SCRATCH” (Palm Pictures) marking their historical contribution to the art of DJing and Turntablism. Together their solo & team albums have earned them critical acclaim in major publications like SPIN, URB, Remix, Knowledge, ATM, DJ Times, Rolling Stone etc., while their music is featured on networks such as MTV, NBC, CNN, HBO, ESPN and more.

In addition to rocking stages globally, Urban Assault are constantly in the studio producing music for release on various record labels as well as their own imprints. They successfully run two multi-genre labels: Heavy Artillery Recordings and 5 Star Records. Their original tunes and remixes frequent the Top10 charts on the regular and some have held the #1 spot for weeks at a time.  Urban Assault’s infamous “Red Raider” EP not only held the #1 spot on both Beatport & TrackItDown, but it was also honored by TrackItDown’s Drum & Bass Awards as one of the top 10 releases of the year alongside such artists as Sub Focus, Deadmau5, Chase & Status, Noisia, DJ Fresh and The Prodigy.

Nicolette Aubourg is an award-winning singer-songwriter, originally from South Africa, where she studied music and received a bachelor of arts in psychology and English literature before moving to Los Angeles. Her latest release is the single called When Palestine Is Free. This is a follow-up to her first song for Palestine called I Am Not Hamas (Song for Gaza) which was awarded Finalist and Outstanding Achievement in the Great American Song Contest, and Honors and a Bronze Medal in the Global Music Awards, as well as a Humanitarian Award of Distinction film award from Accolade Global film competition and four awards from Impact Docs Awards for the music video of the song. Nicolette Aubourg has released ten singles, and three studio albums of original songs: Wild Horse Running Free, Songs from Willow Glen, and Grand View Drive. Many of her songs are social commentary and include subjects such as the genocide in Gaza, animals suffering in captivity, mass shootings in the USA, and a tribute to Nelson Mandela. Her goal is to contribute to making the world a better place, especially for animals, the environment and victims of war, famine and conflict. Nicolette is also a visual artist and incorporates her paintings in her album cover art and liner notes.

It was actually a mobile sauna that brought Vancouverite Darren Woodhead to the attention of many in Western Canada’s dance music scene. Beginning in 2001 these weekly sauna-slash-DJ parties in East Vancouver became a cultural hub for a group of Vancouver creatives. The ensuing Podcast and events brought the sound of sauna to the world while the outdoor shower and thumping beats captured the attention of the neighbours. 

Woodhead's sets get better every year and are guaranteed to bring the vibe he is famous for. Who else can DJ in a 100 degree wooden box or battling 90km winds on Canada's rugged west coast?
