TDJ, a self-proclaimed bedroom and house party DJ, hails from Tarntanya (Adelaide, AU). His musical journey began with house music, transitioning through trance, progressive, and eventually landing on hard house. He proudly maintains his collection of vinyl records.

Transitioning to digital formats, TDJ has expanded his musical repertoire to include drum and bass, often hosting small sessions at home to explore this genre further. His artistic influences draw from artists such as Armand Van Buuren, Fat Boy Slim, Moby, and Billy Bunter.

Reflecting on his earliest experiences, TDJ recalls attending his first rave at Saint Paul’s Church, featuring legendary acts like HMC, Grooverider, and Chris C. He fondly reminisces about frequenting various venues in Tarntanya, including The Corner Heaven Night Club, The Village Tavern, Chemistry Nights, and Rise, as well as attending clandestine gatherings like Enchanted Forest.

TDJ has expanded his horizons by performing at live events, including Wickid Lickwid, Eyre Peninsula Drum and Bass and his first time playing on a big rig for Barossa Valley Drum and Bass, supporting Mampi Swift.

Newy Bass Crew: 093 Introducing... TDJ

Kaizen OG is one of the Newy Bass Crew legends and a junglist based in Darkinjoong (NSW Central Coast). With an insatiable appetite for music, he effortlessly traverses all tempos of broken beats, as long as they're accompanied by fat bass lines, infectious riddims, and soulful melodies.

Originally hailing from the UK, Kaizen OG arrived in Australia in 2012, swiftly becoming a part of Eora's drum and bass scene. In 2016, he cut his teeth as a resident DJ at the legendary kickon spot "117" – a place that holds a special allure for those in the know.

His sonic journey has lead him to play some awesome parties including Parkapoolooza, Chinese Laundry, The Elements of Tech and Bass, Afterlife, various Newy Bass Crew events, and Zoo Project, with his debut set being support for Delta Heavy and Matrix & Futurebound.

Although he took a brief hiatus from the club scene to embrace the joys of fatherhood, Kaizen OG channeled his passion into tinkering with sound systems, pushing the limits of speakers (I mean, how do you know where the limit is, if you haven’t kicked it’s head in a couple of times). His ingenuity led him to create a portable rig, enabling him to take his beats to secret spots tucked away in hidden corners.

Bella Cool are a bass music duo from Eora (Sydney AU) known for their infectious energy and hard-hitting, wobbly bass lines. The boys have also found a home in the bush playing multiple doofs, frequently spinning tunes at various local parties and helm Wonky Nomad Productions (an events company dedicated to infusing the spirit of the bush doof into the cityscape through an array of distinctive parties).

Without Further Ado  i bring to you this months Artist Highlight Dread Maiden.

We are really excited about this one!!!
Our FIRST female Bass Monster Feature,
An alchemist of deep, rolling basslines, euphoric sweetness, and bone-rattling jungle beats. Dread Maiden's aural journeys draw inspiration from the ebb and flow of progressive metal, psychedelic rock, dub, and drum and bass, with a goal to manifest eclectic mixes of light and dark, high and low, she takes listeners on captivating voyages.

Dread Maiden has long been a passionate supporter of the Australian drum and bass community. She co-hosted the Cabin Fever Sessions on Orbital Radio from 2021 until 2023 and is the driving force behind Newy Bass Crew.

She has also featured at NSW's Zenith Gathering Festival, Dragon Dreaming Festival, Basscamp and Subsonic Festival and WA's Rain Dance Festival alongside some of Australia and the worlds best underground acts in drum and bass, psytrance and more.

It's SUBJECTIVE VOL007 - DREAD MAIDEN

The debut EP from onefifteen, "Get/It", is an exploration of experimental halftime that is at the forefront of the onefifteen project. 

Kicking in the door with the heavy, hip-hop driven title track and followed by the fun and quirky wonk of "Sticky Business", the EP is given a deep, textural conclusion with "Purple & Green". 

These tracks are a combination of head-nodding rhythms, deep, dirty bass and strange, distorted effects and serve as a launchpad for what the onefifteen project has planned.
