By now we have become used to sudden changes of direction; but we’d already gathered his real intentions following the popular remix of “Lonely Stars In Open Skies” on All Day I Dream with which Luca jump started 2014.

Now OVO, the eagerly awaited new Luca Bacchetti EP, is here!

With this work on his ENDLESS imprint, Luca seems to be delineating a new soundscape, maintaining the psychedelia he introduced into his productions a few years ago; but now more synthetic and in some ways even minimalist.
In OVO we can find a brace of dancefloor tracks, No Gravity and The Space Between Us, that maintain and harness Luca's emotional and intricate atmospheres whilst also employing powerful sounds and elements that embrace the movement of the body. Mature, emotional Techno, where ethereal dream-like atmospheres find a singular expression and their own distinct identity. It is no coincidence that the whole EP was recorded entirely high up in the Tosco Emiliano Apennines: a place where, for Luca, Nature is the element that most influences this new aural pathway. As he himself states: “It’s this contrast between isolated lands and the chaos of the big city that produces this state of being: a new dialogue. They are two worlds which overlap within my soul: when I’m in New York I think of these mountains and when I’m here I think of the bustle of tour life .. but it’s up here that I find the seed, in this case OVO.”

The beautiful ambient masterpiece, OVO, was recorded in December 2013 and features Stefano Onorati, jazz musician and long time friend of Luca. The 15 minute opus was then finished in April 2014 and now sees its unveiling.

Poker Flat Recordings never disappoints. La Terra is another exquisite release, this time from New York mainstay George Morel (@georgemorel) and the deep vibes of Rowee (@roweemood). Morel has been leaving impressions on club goers and listeners alike for two decades, and has a killer back catalogue featuring releases in Groove On Records, Get Physical Music, Kittball, Suara, Circle music and more. Teaming up with the Italian producer Rowee, also known as Leonardo Gonnelli, the pair share a release featuring two cuts of pure deep heat.

'La Terra' is a burner that chugs along via an urgent rhythm section, before introducing numerous curveball synths, arps, acidic squiggles and more.

'Rushing Through the Mind' sees Rowee take to the controls solo, and dives right into his signature deep, hypnotic grooves. Over 8 plus minutes this deep tech house bomb mutates and expands into a pure dancefloor moment.

Italian producer and Fine Human Records label head Dino Lenny lands on Crosstown Rebels for the first time this November, bringing his distinct and personal style to the label on the absorbing Doctor, also featuring a remix from Nuiton.

The haunting, emotive vocals of Dino impress throughout on Doctor, chugging groove moves alongside waves of dark electronics and panic-struck, devilish synth. A track crafted to capture the inner workings of Lenny’s mind, transforming them into a hypnotic piece. Nuiton remixes Doctor on the reverse, adding energy to the original with skipping hats and quirky arrangements, building tension that reaches an intense jazzy crescendo of percussion and brass to leave you in a headspin. On the digital release a dub version loses the voice but retains the mysticism.

With almost 30 years of releasing records under his belt, Dino Lenny has naturally built an incredible back catalogue of remixes and collaborations. He’s worked with some of the biggest names in the business, yet his productions retain a unique style that is all his own. A true lover of the 80s, when he needs that extra touch he will add his vocals to the music, always trying to deliver something original that will stand the test of time, often opting for imperfect unique experience over precise emotionless never-ending loops. Alongside this, he has remixed huge names like Missy Elliott and Timbaland and has collaborated with legends including Madonna, Wu-Tang Clan, Seth Troxler and Dixon. Lenny has been named as “a wizard of electronic music” by the Chemical Brothers, played live with Underworld, released music on the likes of Crosstown Rebels sister label Rebellion, Innervisions, Diynamic, Cocoon & Correspondant, and is currently signed to Ellum. The Swiss-born buraq is a DJ, music composer and producer based in Zurich, here making his 2nd outing on Steve Bug's Sub- lease Music.
The Untold EP dives straight into the good stuff - the title track is a juicy tech house rol- ler infused with years of experience of the dancefloor. buraq weaves together thick kicks, snappy percussion, deep chords and a sick bassline to create a fully essential tune.

'Unsaid' picks up the baton and runs with it - a taut groove ramps up the tension before melodic loops and a restless synth bring the track to full fruition.

'Unspoken' completes the triptych - another fully primed burner for the late night sessi- ons that balances a powerful groove with light touches.
