Months of blood, sweat, tears and fears over this DJ mix but music is about freedom of expression so this is my personal tribute to all the talented blessed souls that have influenced me and that are sadly no longer with us. Keep enjoying and spreading the word on the originals but if bass and beats float your boat then maybe this mix is a way of enjoying these heroes of ours in a different way.

Jason Laidback - Heroes in Heaven

Feel Life series continues with a talk with Scottish sound psyientist Hedflux, followed by his special mix for the show.

HEDFLUX is the main music project of Scottish-born DJ/Producer Steve Young. A life-long electronicmusic enthusiast, Steve has been spinning in clubs and festivals since before he was legally allowed enter them. Starting out in the early 90s golden era of rave, he went fromold-skool breaks to nu-skool breaks via happy hardcore and drum& bass, spending all his money on turntables, mixers and vinyl while changing his DJ namem ore often than his underwear. In the early naughties he developed a naughty relationship with psychedelic trance. Inspired by it’s smooth curves, other-worldly atmospheres, and an unrivalled ability to produce kaleidoscopic visions in the 3rd eye, he endeavoured to step up his production game and synthesize the ultimate heady dancemusic hybrid: psychedelic breaks! The debut Hedflux track “Music Is MyWeapon” was released in 2008 and this set the archetypal template for the next 5 years of music, during which time he released more than 30 records and performed across the UK, Europe, Australia and America.

On this weeks episode of the Space Cowboys RIPEcast, we are continuing to celebrate Bay Area DJ heroes by bringing you INFLUENCE from the Strategik crew.  Here are a few words from Influence about this mix:

"For this mix I wanted to capture the essence of my time living and DJing in the Bay Area.  It was my objective to travel through the many different genres and sub-genres that influenced me during my time in this extraordinary scene.  The DJ mixes I grew up listening to in the late 90’s early 2000’s took the listener on a journey through valleys and peaks, time and space and left the listener feeling satisfied.   That was my intention with this mix and as you will experience, the mix is an adventure and a trip through Psy Tech, Progressive House, Electro House, Tech House, BREAKS, Future House, Bass House and even ends with some Glitch.    It’s almost 3 hours long so try and listen from beginning to end when you have a moment to take a journey with me.    Good speakers or headphones with proper bass response a plus. Cheers!”

Hola a todos:

De nuevo, vuelvo cargado de música buena con un set que te va transportar a otra dimensión. En esta ocasión os presento mi segundo volumen de la saga SERIOUSLINES. Dada la buena acogida que tuve con la primera, me decidí a sacar adelante el segundo volumen. Nunca suelo decir lo que voy a decir ahora, pero para mi gusto musical, tanto en selección de temas, y en mezclas, esta sesión es para mi gusto una de las mejores que he realizado en toda mi vida. Le he puesto mucho empeño y mucha dedicación, pasándome horas probando mezclas, donde meter los temas, como quitarlos... Toda la parafernalia que yo suelo hacer cuando me curro un set. Quiero dar las gracias a todos vosotros por el apoyo que me dais cuando hago un set nuevo, por que esto de verdad me sale de dentro y lo hago para vosotros. Muchísimas gracias a todos, espero que sea de vuestro gusto. No olvidéis COMPARTIR para que cuanta mas gente pueda disfrutar de la buena música, mejor.
