Superfriends is the new label from Andhim; a label that captures the pair’s charm and ebullience, not only from their past releases but also serves as a stylistic trajectory to date; one that has moved from gentle eclecticism through infinite fun into a refined and contagiously unique electronic sound.

Andhim have over the last decade cultivated an exceptionally loyal fan base of musical lovers and peers alike; that continue to crave the German pairs musical agility and action packed forays.

Superfriends is far from a obvious tick in andhim’s career “to do list” but a strong clue that they are capably poised to continue their anti-intellectualism approach to everything they do.

The international colours of andhim continue to reach all corners of the dance floor focusing less on the narrative and more on the big and fun– Superfriends is set to be an outlet for the production/DJ duo’s most ambitious ideas. An independent exercise in only the finest studio output from themselves but those that inspire, influence and impress.

The first release “Tosch EP” is pristine in production and devoid of existing label noise, where powerfully subtle melodies can sit side by side with immersive dance floor heavy electronic music.

“Tosch EP” signals the pairs desire to remain multifaceted in approach and DIY in execution while also slowly revealing the imagination behind it. The culmination of an intensely creative career to date; andhim brandish a variety tonal ideas that include spacious, diversified and unforced melodies that capture the emotion displayed in the DJ booth.

Since its inception in 2015, British label Shall Not Fade has come to be synonymous with superbly produced underground anthems. With a reputation like this, it goes without saying that the imprint’s latest EP, has us very, very hyped.

The man behind the mischief is a Shall Not Fade OG, Adryiano, who returns to the label to deliver a stomping four-tracker of classic, sample-based house cuts. The "Dreams With" EP has an infectious warmth to it, rendering it a summer essential for any house aficionado’s collection. Not long ago when we caught up with the German producer to talk tunes, he cited the “rough attitude that Chicago…had back in the days” as a key influence on his sound. It comes as no surprise then, that the vibes of this EP are unashamedly old-school and unpretentious. The result: feel-good house at its finest.

Our premiere, Got U Lovin, kicks off the EP by transporting us front-left with its charismatic groove. Opening with muffled beats that usher in a hard-hitting 4/4 kick, the track progresses to showcase the understated power of a killer sample hook, a simple chord sequence, and just the right amount of filtering. Adryiano’s enthusiasm is contagious, providing a jacking energy fit to satisfy all our dance cravings. This is the type of jam just begging to be be played on a big system. With open-air season just around the corner, we are pleased to say it won’t have to beg much longer.

Coming next on Cultivated Electronics Ltd (CE’s limited vinyl offshoot) is a V/A EP entitled ‘Onderwereld’ which takes its name from a former atomic bunker based in The Hague (Netherlands) that housed music studios, offices and the Intergalactic FM station, Onderwereld Radio.  The building had to be vacated last year, but the amalgamation of some of those artists and their creative resources lives on.  Together, they encapsulate the new underground sound of The Hague.

Opening the A-side is a track by Crave Festival organiser, Cosmox who delivers tough staccato Electro-funk on ‘Electrostress’, before 543ff (a regular player on the Dutch Electro scene who’s released on ÆX and has a forthcoming album on Diffuse Reality) brings stripped-back beats and layers of melody on ‘Easy’.

Keeping the Onderwereld collaborative ethos alive, 543ff joins forces with Star-kid (Bunker Records) and Gamma Intel (Brokntoys / Pinkman) on the B-side, for ‘Three City Firm’.  Their original version is dark and bristling, while 543ff’s remix takes the track on a galactic ride.

Jungle flavours run rampant through CKNOWEP26. This time Frey (aka the prolific Benedikt Frey) joins us to lay down 3 jungle infused rhythms. Title track 'Shadow' and 'D.Y.S.' expertly blend complex drums and morphing synthesis with the haunting and recondite vocals of Nadia D'Alo on the A-side. PI rounds off the record with a more familiar jungle outing but is by all means as unique as the rest of the record. One for the heads, inside! Available 10 August 2020.

BNJMN's (@bnjmnnn) album Hypnagogia gets the remix treatment. The Berlin based Brit is a common name seen on Delsin since 2014. With his adventurous techno ambient sounds he released several EPs and his latest full length back in 2018 on the Amsterdam imprint. Here he invites four of his favourite producers to give their twist to his latest album.

Up first, Efdemin turns one of the title tracks into a driving and fierce techno twister where Italian producer Luigi Tozzi eases out the bounciness of Indub's original into an atmospheric dub-techno floater. On the flip rRoxymore does her magic with squeaky percussion riffs and playful melodies turning the original ambient jam into a vivid dance floor roller. Finalizing the pack is Nous'klaer mainstay Mattheis using his instinctive feeling for melodies to create a hypnotizing yet gentle version of Moth Lines.
