Coming up next on 4 Corners Music we’re proud to present 4CM007, a 4 track EP from the tech
corner of Drum & Bass. All tracks are expertly crafted by a newcomers to the label, Sublimit. This
release is a Beatport exclusive from 23rd September then available on general release from 7th
October 2018
Opening this EP is the title track, ‘Tunnel Vision’, with an intro that has your ears swimming in lush,
rich pads building into a menacing, swirling reece which weaves its way into the drop. Next up is
‘Sway’ which comes correct with haunting stabs and slick yet subtle switch ups, making a perfect
track to build into a tech oriented set. ‘In Your Head’ is the 3rd audio weapon in the package, this one
bangs in an off key way with percussion cheekily chopping & slicing through the bass. Finally Sublimit
rolls out the EP in style with the monster ‘Mass Control’, this EP is not to be missed.

Desmond McMahon returns for the second time to a record label who have firmly solidified themselves within both the US and European drum & bass market, having already bridged the gap across the Atlantic. His next EP on Santoku is an expert follow on from the release which provided a pedestal for the young producer, one who’s paved his way through the scene’s biggest stages in the US, the type which tastemakers look to when they consider the underground success of dance music’s pivotal sub genre. The finely-honed sounds of Des have often brought out the freshest turns in DJ sets and mixing styles, providing an intricate look into the younger members of drum & bass and the talent which they’re currently bringing through the ranks.

The four-track package from Des is a look into the versatility of the upcoming producer - from ‘No Need to Speak’ through to ‘Ghost’, he grapples with his heavy layering and carefully laid out musicality in a way that demonstrates just how illustrious he is as an artist. This time he’s taken a more dance floor approach, opposed to the cut throat style of his ‘Delirium’ EP, whilst still pushing his signature throughout every meticulous segment he builds, one on top of the next.

‘No Need to Speak’ draws you straight into the fray with drums which administer swift punches and a bassline that crackles throughout the mix. Next up ‘Bad Habits’ is just as dynamic, creating a driving rhythm which is punctuated by the records swift hooks that jump out from you between the composition. Following on is ‘Bulletproof’ which nods to its namesake and it’s impenetrable in its make up. And finally you’re brought into the wavering movements of ‘Ghost’, the perfect end to his ‘No need to Speak’ EP and giving a final snapshot into his diversity as a producer.

Santoku highlight how they have an eye for picking up blossoming newcomers - and Des is leading the charge. Although a go-to from the beginning, Santoku are making themselves widely felt without the need to submit to a more commercial appeal.

The first 4 Corners Music release of the year comes in the form of 4CM009, the second sampler from
Embers Of Light hotly anticipated album ‘Caught In A Deep Thought’! We’re really looking forward to
sharing this sampler ahead of the full release of the album. This release is a Beatport exclusive from4th February then available on general release from 18th February 2019.
Starting the sampler off on a dark & moody tip is ‘Step Off’. With crisp, detailed synth work and
enough low end to knock down a bridge this track is a weapon. Next up is ‘Too Me’, featuring sublime
vocals and piano bringing some bittersweet contrast into the release, one for the smooth selectors.
The third track from the sampler is ‘Two Four’, bringing a slice of electric dancefloor energy. Finally
we have ‘Foolish For You’, a collaboration with Schematic, closing out the sampler perfectly with a
deep cut of drum & bass pressure.
