With the trio of monthly singles from TMSV, Samurai Breaks and THUGWIDOW introducing London-based imprint Sub Merchants to the scene in fine style earlier this year, they are pleased to share with you the final packaged EP 'Surrey Street', which concludes this release cycle exploring the contemporary evolution of jungle music. Included on the EP is a re-release of all three tracks, accompanied by remixes from Drumterror & B:Thorough, Groves and Fiesta Soundsystem.

Painting a picture of the jungle scene in 2020, ‘Surrey Street’ aesthetically pays homage to Croydon‘s roots within the scene, and features six sublime selections from some of the most exciting new names on the map over the past couple of years. You truly won’t find primer cuts this side of the River Thames.

Through These Eyes is very proud to announce a 12" from Moscow's very own Dub/Jungle production trio Champion Sound. Neekeetone, Distant Roots and General Koondoongoo made some respectable tunes on their own, but once they combined their powers as Champion Sound, the levels were rised higher. And although dubby jungle rhythms might not be the first thing that comes to mind when
you think of Moscow, this is the style these three producers from the Russian Federation have mastered in the last few years. Playing together in a reggae band and having a strong love for all things dub definitely helped a alot, too...
No wonder their tunes already got support from Moresounds, J:Kenzo, Sun People, Mister Shifter or Mystic Pulse and got played heavily on Rinse FM.

Astrophonica welcomes veteran producer dgoHn to the family. Through releasing music over the past decade, dgoHn aka John Cunnane has acquired a cult following and gained DJ support from figure heads like Thom Yorke, Tom Ravenscroft and Aphex Twin. 
 
2009 saw Rephlex Records release his collaborative album ‘Some Shit Saaink’ with fellow drumcunt Macc. Sitting somewhere between Jungle, Drumfunk, Experimental Jazz and brutal sub bass, dgoHn’s music is intense in both mania and serenity. 
 
“dgoHn has long since been one of my favourite producers in the left-field jungle or ‘drumfunk’ world. He has a knack of applying brain melting beat science without ever interrupting the groove and rhythm of the track. It’s something that few people can do, and he seems to effortlessly. There’s also a certain sadness and melancholy to his chords and fleeting melodies, which creates a beautiful contrast to the frantic drum madness. Amongst all this, there is a lot of bass, real Jungle bass, that anchors but also adds the ‘sound system’ edge to the mix, resulting in something very unique.” - Fracture
 
‘Sporks’ takes the 160bpm half time tempo that has become synonymous with the label and throttles full speed into a driving bongo led rush of euphoric pads and deadly sub bass. Have you ever danced with a murderer?
 
‘Dolorous Dick’ead’ is an explosion of paradoxical emotions where hyperenergetic Jungle breaks and introverted chords meet to create an intense journey through a tape saturated landscape.
 
‘Acacia Road’ continues the modern 160bpm theme, but diverts into a trance like state with meditative pads and metronome-like poly rhythmic percussion as familiar breaks are elevated towards enlightenment. 
 
In ‘Lost and Found’, a wonderfully crusty break is slowly polished by wistful pads to wipe away the tears before the Amen edits are slowly uncovered to reveal a hidden shiny metallic underlay. Blinding.

After months of speculation, London-based imprint Sub Merchants are pleased to finally announce the first part of their debut release ‘SM-001’, with the lead single from Dutch producer TMSV - ‘Abyss Watcher’ - the first in a monthly series of singles, that will ultimately culminate in a full compilation EP exploring the contemporary evolution of jungle music.

‘Abyss Watcher’ is a formidably aggressive entrance from the label, with TMSV already having proven his weight in the genre with his previously self-released ‘jungle vol.1-4’ EPs, alongside releases with Rua Sound, Om Unit’s Cosmic Bridge and J:Kenzo’s Artikal. Cutting his teeth in the murky world of dubstep and leftfield bass music, TMSV has cemented his place as one of the most consistently exciting producers on the map at the moment, and his offering for Sub Merchants is absolutely no exception.

After blasting onto the scene last month with a monstrous jungle track from TMSV, London-based imprint Sub Merchants are pleased to share with you ‘Marathon’, a 160bpm stomper from Leeds’ own Samurai Breaks  - the second in a monthly series of singles, that will ultimately culminate in a full compilation EP exploring the contemporary evolution of jungle music.

‘Marathon’ is a fantastically definitive demonstration of the sound Samurai Breaks has recently become known for, combining elements of jungle, footwork and old-school hardcore in a sound that is quite uniquely his own, making use of a clap-heavy drum pattern paired with a colourfully thick bassline bound to put any soundsystem to the test. Toting previous releases with the likes of Off Me Nut Records, Halogen Beats and Elektrical Records, the latter of which saw Addison Groove behind the wheel on the remix, Samurai Breaks is clearly making his own distinctive mark on the scene, and ‘Marathon’ is no exception.
