We are kicking off 2022 with a special 2hr episode on the MindTrip Podcast by Slight Function. The duo introduced itself to our MindTrip world last month with their track ‘Mistaken Identity’ released on Mutable Minds V compilation. Slight Function was created in 2020 and is a completely new project between the German Krenzlin and the Argentinian Rhombic. Their debut release came out as 12" vinyl at 770-output on February 2021 and their sound can be identified as dark, straight, raw techno. A scientist by day and a DJ by night, Polish-born and Edinburgh-based ona:v began DJing in Edinburgh clubs in 2019. With distinctive taste for fast-paced and energetic tracks, she packs her DJ mixes with high-energy electro and techno. She is an advocate for female representation in the electronic music industry and believes the best way to increase the proportion of women in the electronic music world is platforming. Her mixes always feature tracks by amazing female producers. To further promote women DJs, she founded EPiKA with @ktk_dj. The aim of EPiKA is to promote women playing heavier flavors of electronic music through organising a series of female-led nights in Edinburgh and to create a welcoming and supportive environment for beginner female DJs.

Lindsey Wang, the mind behind Polygonia, is a versatile musician and artist based in Munich, Germany. A long time before her electronic music journey began, she explored the realms of several acoustic instruments intensively. This skill combined with studies of various other art forms, inspired the artist to translate her understanding of rhythm, composition, and experimentalism into the digital music language. Her sound identity is driven by a mystic, deep and organic character which is enriched with acoustic elements, built into the genres of deep techno, downtempo and ambient. 

Together with Dycide and MTRL she founded the ambient and deep techno label IO. She also co-curates the podcast channel Hadal Resonance. In addition, the artist works as an interactive sound designer at the company Impulse Audio Lab.

She has spent more than twenty years perfecting her intuition, technique and buildiing up a vinyl collection which oscillates between timeless techno and the most select house, making the most of the nuances that exist between said genres and all their sub-genres have to offer. Maybe you remember some of her emblematic vinyl-only ‘All Night Long’ sessions or maybe you saw her perform in London, Berlin, Brussels or during her time in Latin America. She might have made her mark on one of your idyllic summer nights in Ibiza or perhaps you heard her at a festival or an distinguishing club in Barcelona at her ‘Selectors’ night; always in constant evolution, with all possibilities still open for exploration. You may be familiar with her well-respected label, Chapter Records, founded in 2014. You may have even played or listened to one of her releases yourself, or perhaps heard some of her tracks in one of Dave Clarke’s sessions. You might have also already discovered her latest work in the studio, such as her ‘Different Approach’ EP on RSPX (Rekids Special Project) or her latest releases on Symbolism, Ben Sims' label. It is never too late to make new descoveries, those which will never be forgotten. You may not know Chapter Records or Selectors, or even Anika Kunst herself but in time and space, the devotion many of us feel for the clubbing scene streghtens our bond and binds us to each other, unyielding as we move together.
