M-zine returns to Sofa Sound Bristol with a very special project - his debut album, 'Know When You're Ready'.

It's a milestone moment for an artist whose output has matured, marinated and developed for over a decade to a natural pinaccle.

M-zine represents everything we love at Sofa Sound and the album is layered with warm textures and organic tones to form a rich body of work with great depth that rewards both your patience and your sound system.

With influences rooted in dub, techno, funk and soul, M-zine embraces the lost art of simplicity and is focused on getting the most out of just 4 or 5 core elements so everything works together nicely in the mix.

Written mostly during covid; clubs were closed, but M-zine had his rig at home and used the isolation to craft his own little soundscape; something pure and introspective, nice and simple.

Its subtle, meditative and Sofa Sound through and through - a warm collection of tracks for you to appreciate.

Welcome to the first of three EP’s from the young prodigy hailing from the deepest darkest dankest corner of some probably lightness airless room nestled away in ye olde South-West England. 

Finally emerging like some untamed ungroomed yeti from said murky corner, the young whippersnapper unleashes three similarly dank and deep cuts for Tough Love: Part One in the form of the slimy yet crunchy ‘Gherkin’, the chug chug chug number that is ’Motion’ with fellow bass booter T>I, all alongside one that surely needs no more progress whatsoever, the tub-thumping ‘In Progress’ alongside Acid Lab. 

Serious pieces of music from a not so serious man, we can’t wait for you to unleash these on the unsuspecting ravers in the club. They’re going to smash down walls and beat up rigs, and this is just the beginning of the new Tough Love project from the man they call Myth!

Longtime D&B producer Submorphics launches his new imprint Rosebay Music with a 2 track single showcasing the modern-yet-timeless soul sound that he is known for. Fusing elements of Motown, deep house, footwork, 80s & 90s, funk and orchestral film soundtracks, the nomadic producer displays his love of emotive, eclectic D&B in signature form on this first single.

Rosebay Music releases will connect the dots between disparate styles of soulful music, with unexpected collaborations, remixes and genre hybrids - focusing on melodically strong D&B, adjacent forms of dance music, hip hop and modern soul.

Soul Deep Digital and Dan Guidance are proud to present the Instant Connection EP, which is now available in all major digital stores and streaming sites.  The U.K.-based producer returns to the imprint and delivers a beautiful set of Liquid compositions that show off his keen song-writing ability.  Dan Guidance continues to build an impressive catalogue of songs, and the “Instant Connection EP” is another journey into his creative world.  

The release kicks off with the hypnotic sounds of the title track, “Instant Connection.”  The song is highlighted by steady ticking drums, warping keys, edgy mid-basslines, and a mesmorizing backdrop os synth pads and strings. “Fuzzy Buzz,” is up next and drifts along with its warm piano chords, crunchy drums, rolling sub-bassline, and ethereal vocals.  “Find Me,” is up next and captures a more dance floor vibe with its reese baseline, epic vocals, drenched backdrop, and stripped down drum pattern.  Dan Guidance lays down the wicked Liquid/Jungle vibes in the track, “This is the Last Time.”  The track blends wandering horn riffs, echoing vocals, and a warm sub-baseline, falling underneath a choppy Jungle break.  “When There’s Soul,” rounds things out in style with its echoing piano keys, airy pads, snappy drums, and bouncing bassline.  Dan Guidance continues to make a name for himself in the production scene.  The Instant Connection EP will further expose the listeners to the magical production skills that he possesses. Submorphics (Greg Axelrad) has made his name with soul-drenched, deep, emotive, nostalgic-yet-forward-thinking music. His productions display a fine-tuned signature sound with a distinct tone and melodic sensibility that has earned him admiration from fans, DJs and music lovers alike.

Releases like ‘Long Been Gone’ and ‘Higher Ground’ (Ft. T.R.A.C.) cemented him as one of the top soulful D&B artists in the 2010s, leading him to start releasing longer projects focusing on deeper emotional musical journeys with an emphasis on sonic detail. Tracks on Shogun Audio, Hospital, V Recordings, Metalheadz and Integral saw Submorphics demonstrating a unique take on soulful D&B, connecting the dots between his eclectic influences from Detroit and Chicago with UK Drum & Bass. 

Signing to The North Quarter in 2018, Submorphics released 5 larger projects on the coveted Dutch label to widespread acclaim. Joining the dots between soulful hip hop + D&B in his own trademark voice, the Detroit Haze EP and Kodak Dreams LP put a stamp on his longtime sound and vision with stunning effect - garnering love from both the D&B scene and larger beats scenes. 

Following this, 2021’s Newport Magnetic EP demonstrated a refined sound palette while still retaining his trademark deep melodics. Then in 2022 the Verona Highway EP showcased an even wider screen electronic vision and emotional range, honing in on a moodier Detroit-themed synthetic D&B sound. And in 2023 the script was completely flipped with the psychedelic guitars and hazy organic beauty of the Moonbeam Drive EP.

Later that year his darker Detroit influences returned with the popular Galattico EP on legendary 31 Records. 

And then with little warning Submorphics launched Rosebay Music - an imprint that has proved to be 1 of the standout labels in the soulful D&B realm. With a carefully A&R’ed release schedule, Rosebay tunes have received widespread support from across the board of the D&B scene. 

All this has lead to an active DJ schedule and Submorphics has travelled the globe playing his favourite soulful bangers and the best in modern D&B, engaging with fans young and old with his passionate take on the genre.
