French artist Mala Ika joins Roam Recordings with two new original offerings backed by remixes from Phunkadelica and Shubostar to form the Du Bist Ernst EP. Mala Ika has been prolific lately with releases on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Critical Mondays, and Watergate Records. She brings her unique style to Roam starting with the title track Du Bist Ernst which thoughtfully bends an 80s riff into something completely new. Zufall continues to showcase Mala Ika’s sound with pulsating synth stabs, arps, and even a little breakbeat floating through this hypnotic tune. Italian duo Phunkadelica who have been topping the charts lately with tracks like “By The Power Of Grayskull” takes on Du Bist Ernst and delivers a dark driving version. Returning to Roam with her Tracelove remix, Shubostar gives an epic version of Zufall with lush strings, dramatic builds, and some classic rave flavor.
