The Genius Loci of the Thames: 
After centuries of submersion he emerges onto the foreshore to communicate with us through sounds he has collected from past peoples. Characterising the sounds and histories of London using the earth and artefacts born from it.

•Ceramic costume (constructed using porcelain smoking pipes dating between the late 1500 to late 1800s)
•Wooden bull roarer or wind wand (modelled from European palaeolithic/Mesolithic examples) 
•Whirly wand: Drone sounds 
•Ceramic whistle/ocarina: Made from clay collected from the Thames river banks 
•Thunder drums 

Ashleigh Fisk is currently studying BA Fine Art at Slade School of Fine arts. As a multi media artist, her work spans performance, sound, painting, ceramics, sculpture and video. She is currently investigating the use of ceramics to create sound and instruments, much of her inspiration steaming from ceramic artefacts found while Mudlarking on the Thames foreshore. Her work concerns the 'All Man’, revealing the universal experience of inhabiting a body; both inanimate and animate. Historical characters, artefacts, symbols, places and stories create parallels that connect our bodies to our ancestors

The Wire

'Headshot bonus' is a collage of quick and sudden events that aims to arouse in the listener the experience of video games' playing immersion. From the intimacy of close ASMR whispering to the unsettling mix of Vivaldi's composition with shooting sounds and soldiers' communication, the sound collage throws the spectator in a temporary virtual world. The window to this new world of overlapping layers reveals connections between commercials, emotions, dependance, video game, sound design and media before suddenly closing for a return to reality.. Composed for Gwaith Sŵn's Sonic Darts show on Resonance FM, broadcasted on 7th October 2019, "Headshot Bonus" was made by using parts of ASMR youtube recordings, audio lists of Call of Duty's gun sounds, video games' commercials and demos of joysticks sounds.
