"I always wanted to flip this classic Dad Rock cut (honestly I've always loved the cut thanks to my dad!). The original flip I made was pretty fast, probably 140bpm - and I got used to it but after a while I wanted to hear it slower, so I tried some different methods of keeping the original instrumentation and pitch intact, making a tighter edit of the arrangement, and time-stretching the whole thing in ableton from 140bpm to i believe 90bpm (where it is here). The "complex" mode in ableton can compromise a lot of the integral high frequency detail, and so can the VTM plugin I use a lot - *so* to compensate as an experiment post-processing I then very liberally boosted the high frequencies with a large shelf lift probably from 5-10k up, to get that frequency range back to where it originally was except this time introducing artifacts and weird distortion from the time-stretching and VTM plug. Thats the sound here :)

Here's a song I'm releasing to celebrate my first tour, which started yesterday. Conveniently, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers started their national tour this week as well. Neither of those things will matter to you if you are listening to this song six months from now, but whatever. 

I loved working on this one. We had some help from the brass section of Busty and the Bass.

When Omar Afzaal (guitar, vox) woke up the morning of his wedding, he already knew it would be the biggest day of his life up until that point. What he didn’t know is that he would meet Charles Sloan (bass, vox) that same day. The two would go on to play music together in 2013, resulting in some demos. It was when Afzaal and Sloan turned to Craigslist to find a drummer, eventually linking up with Wes Black, that the brotherhood of Language was born.

Following two self-released EPs, the band now announces their signing to Brooklyn-based label Good Eye Records and their forthcoming "Plymouth" EP.

Language has been something of a best kept secret in the live music landscape in NYC. Their experimental while unflinching stylings are the product of three individual talents committed to their artistry, enjoying the hell out of playing with each other the whole way. 

Their buzzy status earned them a support for Shame in late 2017, with "Plymouth" set to bring them to the attention of the music-enjoying populace at large.

"Plymouth" is out now and is the sixth release from Good Eye Records.

It’s called “Indecent Exposure” (no song title to match?), and it’s just the kind of hot mess we cream over: sloppy, unpolished shit rock, distorted to the max, and faster than lubed moose manure with barely intelligible vocals that we’re keen to judge based on song titles like “Vibrator Violator,” and the obvious FM radio smash hit of the bunch, “Devil Sucks My Cock and Swallows.” An artistic triumph in every sense that we aren’t likely to witness again, or at least until the release of the upcoming 7” by Puppy and the Hand Jobs!
