UK house music virtuoso @Jack-Beats & rising star @Qlank are constantly raising the bar to new heights so it’s no wonder that they’ve teamed up for the ‘Paradise’ EP. The duo kicks off the release with ‘Higher’, a percussive extravaganza that bounces through uncanny territory and into a heavy, textured bassline. ‘Hold It’ takes the EP for a darker turn, whose indistinct vocal samples lend to a haunting breakbeat buildup that cascades into a menacing, pounding bass drop. The release is rounded off by ‘Feel’, a moody groover featuring emotionally-charged vocals from Quinn that shapeshift into a UKG-tinged breakdown. A unique brand of house homogenizes when Jack Beats’ signature dark motif and melodic synthwork merges with Qlank’s clean, bass-heavy production style and we aren’t mad about it.
