The Checkup is a fine digger of 90s House Music gems and he proves once again all the passion he has for the original, most stomping form of the genre with this 2 track EP, out on French imprint Frappé. Starting the aptly named "Energy" EP is "Wintergarten", which blends soulful vocals and piano loops on a bouncy bassline, for the kind of dancefloor banger the Parisian label is accustomed to releasing. The French-born and Berlin-Based produced then joins forces with singer Cansu Kandemir to deliver the deep and groovy "waited long enough". The smooth voice is supported by 90s' sounding pads and punchy drums and snares. This one will sure get the crowd started on club dancefloors all around the world.

Abaporu é um dos nomes que percorre pelas pistas de house music de Santa Catarina. Dos clássicos ao moderno, busca trazer sets que despertam a sede pelo fervo com muitos ritmos ricos em detalhes e coloridos. Buscando versatilidade e uma musicalidade mais híbrida, não se apega a gêneros mas procura sempre fluir entre o house e disco com pitadas de synths mais contemporâneos e muita musica brasileira.

Sobre o mix: Atualmente estou numa fase mais "moderna" dos meus sons, porem ainda sou muito apegados aos clássicos que me fizeram um apaixonado pelas pistas, então busquei trazer um meio termo: músicas modernas que tivessem claras referências aos clássicos. Achei alguns discos com uma musicalidade mais atual, com menos ruídos e um som mais clean porém preservando os sopros populares que agitavam as pistas das discotecas 80tistas. Fazia um tempo que eu buscava oportunidade de tocas algumas músicas desse set, pela primeira vez eu sinto que conseguir manter o conceito "Abaporu" ao mesmo tempo que testava sonoridades novas que atualmente me atraem, espero que curtam o mix da mesma forma que eu curti produzindo-o.
