New imprint Distant Waters, from Nantes, France is an ode to high seas, far away oceanic lands and unknown marine wildlife. Co-founder of the label, Sans Sucre, who released previously on Antam records and Planet Tapes offer this first EP from Distant Waters.  

The A1 of this four-track EP, Tetrodoxin, is the starting point of the aquatic story, with whales samples and aquatic groove, it fit perfectly to warm up a wet dancefloor. A2, Aqualung is inspired by asian groove, with some tastes of Yellow Magic Orchestra matching with 303 elements. The B-side follows up with Sequential Hermaphrodism, A downbeat track with an heavy hip hop inspired bassline. Then it finish with Ampullae Of Lorenzini, the most dancefloor oriented track of the EP, with a mysterious sweet voice.

Sans Sucre - The First Dive (DW01)

In a secret laboratory in an unknown location, two lifeforms not of this world were at work.
Based on previous experiments, it was understood that when the two lifeforms were left alone together, they could create various elements from nothing, somehow communicating with each other what was needed through a sophisticated type of Internal Transmission.
As scientists watched and took notes, the lifeforms sat on the floor across from each other. They did not talk. They did not move. They simply sat, doing the impossible. The atmosphere began to transform and one lifeform produced Gold, Arsenic, Carbon, and Radium. Almost simultaneously, the other conjured up Oxygen, Mercury, Nitrogen, and Neon.
The elements swirled in the air until they finally combined. The result was astonishing. It was the exact same compound the lifeforms had been discovered with when they crash landed on Earth some 22 months before. A compound never seen before. 

A compound the world would come to know as VOIGT.MAS.

March 2021 will see the launch of Planet Orange Records with a 12” vinyl only release that embodies the much loved early sound whilst still pushing modern electronic styles the label thrives on, offering four cuts of slick electronic house music complete with artwork by Endless Visual. 

A1 comes from top guy and friend of the label, Markus Sommer.Based in Offenbach, Markus is no new name to the scene and we are super proud to be able to release some of his music. 

A2 is Pete Melba's debut release coming on his own label. A playful mix of slick electronic house grooves featuring classic and modern sounds. 

B1 is from Leeds based, Laik Records founder Burge. A nod to the electro sound while keeping very in line with the sound of the label. Definitely an upcoming artist with super talent. Watch this space! 

Finally B2 is from our brother Human Logo, based in London and runs his label Technical Glitch. Bill has many a digi release under his belt, very happy to have him on board with our first release on wax.
