30 Minute DnB mix submission for The Love Long Beach Festival Contest.
Took a bit of effort to fit the tracks I wanted to mix within the 30 mins.  In order to bring a type of hybrid dnb vibe with roller/jungle/ragga/ jump-up & liquid vocal elements, I kept it close enough in key for the blends as not to clash frequencies.

Subset Session 001 — Fetamin

hello everyone, welcome to mix forty three!

in this mix we continue our journey through our beloved tao te ching. it never fails to amaze me that the more the tao pulls me in, the more i could never imagine living a life without it. i can't even remember a life prior to being called to it, yet the ironic thing is in retrospect it has always been with me. i know that now. another fascinating aspect of the tao is the understanding of not grasping. i say that to say every time i make an effort to memorize lines or phrases, for some reason they never stick. yet, when i'm wandering about in my daily life, experiences tend to happen that is tao in physical action. the tao slaps me in the face so to speak which results in laughter. and as the tao reminds us, without that laughter it would not be the tao. i chuckle to myself and hold the way in my heart and feel peace & calm. it is quite funny how a measly three letter word can hold such grandeur. i am thankful every single day for that three letter word.

for me it is the tao, for you it may be something else. but whatever it is for you, I hope you have discovered it. 

before i leave you to the music, i want to dedicate this mix to my younger brother who is celebrating his birthday today. growing up we were always at each others' necks as siblings do, now as adults he's my best friend and i would do anything for him. life is flying by quickly, enjoy your family before it is too late.

For digging the Crates Radio episode 3 we invited local drum & bass legend & friend Beau ‘Pacify’ Kingsma. After playing B2B with no other than Skrillex 8 years ago, Beau knew that drum & bass was what he really wanted to pursue as his musical passion. Beau is known for his fast-paced neuro sets where he plays, as he likes to call it, “Niet normaal harde drum & bass” 😎.

Over the years Beau has had some well-respected gigs where he moved the crowd with the sickest double-and-triple drops that G-city has ever heard, some of which were:

-  Noisia Outer Edge afterparty
-  Bevrijdingsfestival 
-  Closing Machtig after the Upbeats
-  Various Subsonic parties

Just before Covid he played together with Fusion Mode at AGORA and during the pandemic he didn't stood still and did several livestreams to blast through the home-cinema studios. As a professional early morning DJ he will break our souls like no other. Expect no less than the rawest tunes and well chosen double-drops from his set for our Crater's 'Digging the Crates Radio'.
