abstracted_in_time is the current project of Bob Borland. Mr. Borland's journey into the world of synthesizers began with a modified Silvertone model 800 Portable Transistor Radio. In the 7th grade, Bob discovered that by connecting the speaker terminals to the volume control terminals through various electronic components, he could produce a wide variety of sounds. His music teacher, intrigued by this improvised instrument, requested a demonstration for the class. This performance, however, only reinforced his classmates' perception of him as a total geek. Embarrassed, Bob retired his transistor radio synth and stepped away from creating experimental electronic music until 1985.
 
At the age of 28, Bob joined the folk acid band "United Wonder" as the band's technical advisor. The band encouraged him to contribute musically, leading him to play a few chords on an organ with auto chord buttons during their recordings. It wasn't long before Bob acquired an ARP Axxe synthesizer, which he promptly modified by adding a polyphonic mode and connectivity to a Radio Shack TRS-80 computer.
 
In 2024, Bob began assembling a home studio, which now includes a Mac mini running Logic Pro, a Novation Launchkey 49 keyboard, a Donner STARRYPAD Drum Machine, and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface.
 
Some of the artists that are inspiring the abstracted_in_time project are: Tangerine Dream, Klangphonics, State Azure, Solar Fields, Carbon Based Lifeforms and Mystic Crock.

I like octarine, it's a nice colour. Octarine sounds are the music that, for me, resembles the colour.
Now look into my green eyes and give me food... NOW!...

I'm almost back...

After the death of a loved one, I found myself unable to play music... so I opened a small attic room deep in my unbalanced mind and played other types of instruments... it had to happen...

So here's a track, "ATTIC ROOM" (37 minutes), composed and produced, bringing together 10 very different and surprising tracks... I feel like I was in another dimension for a while, and I hope you enjoy it.

Me voici presque de retour...
Après le décès de l'un de mes proches, je me suis retrouvé dans l'incapacité de jouer de la musique... alors j'ai ouvert une petite chambre mansardée tout au fond de mon esprit en déséquilibre et j'ai joué sur d'autres types d'instruments... il fallait que cela se réalise...

Voici donc un titre "ATTIC ROOM" (37minutes) composé et réalisé rassemblant 10 titres tellement différents et surprenants... je pense avoir été dans une autre dimension pendant un certain temps et j'espère que vous allez apprécier.
