'Here I Am' is een reis in 13 delen. Van de delicate noten van piano en viool tot de diepe, meditatieve lagen van ambient soundscapes. Elke track is zorgvuldig verweven met specifieke binaural beats en solfeggio frequenties, niet als effect, maar als fundament.

Dit album is gemaakt als een ritueel. Een soundtrack om bewust los te laten, diep te voelen en helder te kiezen wie je vanaf nu wilt zijn. Luister het van begin tot eind als een complete sessie, of kies de track die resoneert met wat je op dit moment nodig hebt.

Talked to you on the phone the other day—WhatsApp voice call—and I noticed the dissecting and unsettling silence fading in between each spoken word, like someone holding the breath or stopping time. Or a tap closed between each filling of a glass. It was a clean, cleansed, silence—one purified by the dullness of calculation, of automation, of regulation and optimisation.
I remember the feeling of talking with friends via landline connection—it felt like a direct channel opened up between our ears and tongues, an airiness of circulation. I could hear the other person breathing and the slight static noise of electricity hardwiring us. Now I don't hear the other person's breath anymore—the algorithmic sound detection for controlling the threshold of the microphone transmission seems to not register breath as a signal deemed necessary for communication.

Warm Winters Ltd. is pleased to announce JC Leisure’s (@jcleisure) latest solo release, 'Mutations For'. The album is built from the artist's collection of mixtapes from circa 1992 onwards that distil the counterculture of rave, free parties and pirate radio broadcasts. 

For the last couple of years this archive has formed the basis for JC Leisure’s hybrid DJ cassette sets, a handful of which are archived on Bandcamp. Aware of each cassette's cultural legacy, with 'Mutations For' JC Leisure sets out to give the archive a higher form of autonomy. Similar to the audio-to-midi processes he developed with his band Raft of Trash (where they use the world-building game Simcity3000 as raw material) the cassette tapes are sampled live and fed to synthesizers, software patches and samplers; allowing them to write their own melodies and rhythms. Leisure has worked with and alongside these results and offers them up on 'Mutations For' as an alternative future to a counterculture's unstable history. 

These ideas are explored further in collaboration with designer Afonso de Matos on the poster that forms the physical realization of this work.
