Delta9 Recordings presents "From The Streets part1" a various artists project showcasing a variety of drum and bass styles and paying homage to the drum and bass sounds that Delta9's crew grew up with since their early days promoting parties over ten years ago until now.

Hitting the shelves on 28th of February 2017 (Beatport release 14th of February) "From The Streets first instalment will focus on the minimal, abstract and deep sounds of drum and bass. Part 2 will switch things up a gear with a collection of rollers and heavyweight neurofunk tracks.

On the first instalment listeners will find tracks from a host of Delta9 artists including young Italian producer, Neurosplit. D Flect who joined the Delta9 crew in Feb 2015 with two tracks on the Exit21 LP. Acid Lab who has made waves with releases on Rupture London and Paradox Music makes an appearance on the compilation. Dissident and Cyberworm, both veterans of the micro funk scene. Okkupied and Abstrakt Vision two newcomers to the scene. Bristolian Bass Sherrif, who returns for the fourth time to Delta9 Recordings. German producers, Jumpat and Dreadmaul and finally newcomers Logics from Croatia and Debrief from the UK.

Delta9 combined tracks from all of these artists to create a unique compilation which people can enjoy in clubs, cars or walking down the road.

From The Streets will be available on digital and limited edition cd exclusive to the label's bandcamp.

dgoHn is one of the artists that best encapsulates the Subtle Audio sound. He offsets heavy breakbeats with an array of smooth keys, strings and vocals, while his arrangements always carry the listener on a journey that is never quite certain but always interesting. These are qualities that have ensured Aphex Twin regularly plays his music at festivals around the world and that dgoHn himself gets booked to play at the most esoteric Drum & Bass nights like Technicality and IChiOne aswell as at eclectic events such as Bangface.

“Hang Nail” employs the ubqitious amen but with a crunch and a twist that only dgoHn could provide. The incessant nature of the drums is tempered by a wistful repetitive synth-line and some kind of weird voice and pipe symbosis (we did say it would be interesting).
The title of the next track prepares you for the slightly obtuse nature of the music - “4.377445 Yards” has an abundance of melody and some nice male vocals that would be considered overtly saccharin elsewhere but not alongside dgoHn’s railroading breaks and menacing basslines. The off-kilter redeployment of different elements as the tune progresses and the general rhythmical deviancy also ensure that this is no Sunday stroll!

Finally “Be Gentle” rounds off proceedings by abandoning the traditional Drum & Bass 4/4 time signature and the unconventional rhythmic structure allows for a unique interplay between the beats, bass and melodics. But then what did you expect from someone called ‘dgoHn’ ???

Beginning his musical production career with drum and bass / breakbeats in the late 90’s, ASC became known for his editing abilities and intricate productions. James progressed rapidly with his intuitive talent enabling him to grow into one of the scenes most respected ‘intelligent’ producers of his era with a series of releases - most notably on his own label Covert Operations, Good Looking, 720 Degrees and Paradox’s Outsider label.

Around 2010, ASC became an integral part of the Autonomic sound with an LP on Instra:mental’s Non Plus label, James’ production was reduced into a new form and breakbeats became less and less integral to his sound.

With a recent resurgence in golden era sounding Drum and Bass / Jungle, we began planting seeds to draw James back into flex his considerable editing prowess with 20 years of production experience to draw on.

Once lured into his hard drives to dig out breaks, ‘An Exact Science’ flowed rapidly and effortlessly for James. Covering several prevalent sounds of the most revered era of DnB but propelling them into 2020, the EP once again reminds us that ASC can turn his skill and ear to any sound and make it his own. From the soaring luminous amenism of Moment of Truth to the dead eye precision of In The Shadows and Worlds of Ice, James injects a sensibility that elevates the tracks on An Exact Science into a place of their own, belying any historical anchors attached to their vibe.

An Exact Science is a fantasy of long time ASC fans have had for many years (ourselves included) come to life with results that surpass our imagined results.
