Methxx05 sees the debut release on Metalheadz from SB81 aka Nolige. ”DITD (Dancer In The Dark)” is a headnodding monster of a tune,  bridging the gap between past and present, future x history, and between half timed beats & faster tempos with its clever percussive work. Chilling icy pads slowly evolve into warm string breakdowns and back again. A real exploration into the deeper side of modern dnb.

”Back To 33 (ft Shakk)” is an eerie darkside stepper. Analogue bass notes and oldskool pads bring the live kicks, snares and rides together into a most satisfying whole. Again, these are deep beats for the discerning junglist.

The album delivers with an unfaltering intent and truly demonstrates Jubei’s incredible versatility with tracks that traverse & transcend from one corner of the music to the next with an almost effortless and misleading ease.

Each composition is within its own right a standout highlight. The track list includes a ridiculous amount of jaw-dropping collaborative talent. Credits for example see Jubei once again call on the vocal prowess of Flowdan for the LP’s massive follow up to past release "Say Nothing" entitled "The Moment". "State of the Art" flips the script at 170+ with SP:MC on vocal duties. Further co production credits on the album bring Jubei together the forces of Goldie, D-Bridge & Youngsta just to name a few.

Albums like this don’t come along every day and whilst some artists now imitate with sights set firmly on commercial success only a select few can originate whilst continuing to cross boundaries so consistently.

Originally released as a 4 track 2x12" vinyl on Subtle Audio in 2009, a very limited 10 track Subtle Audio CD version followed in 2010 before a licensing deal with Rephlex Records saw the CD widely distributed along with 3 (digital only) bonus tracks. Now that the licensing term with Rephlex has come to an end, we're releasing all 15 tracks from the 3 different formats in one digital download. Seems fitting to do it now, seeing as we are celebrating Subtle Audio's 10th Birthday this year and it's 5 years since the original release of this album.

"Time to enter the insane, weird, drum-centric world of Macc & dgoHn as the Subtle Audio camp proudly delivers its first album long player by this pair of not altogether insane East Londoners.

Subtle Audio has been pushing Drum & Bass with a slighly different slant since 2005 and this album could well be presented as their mission statement, it sums up the distinctive sound of the label perfectly.

Macc & dgoHn favour a breakbeat driven style and they incorporate their beats into ever shifting cinematic arrangements brim full of attitude and experimentation. Individually, their sounds have travelled far beyond the Drum & Bass microcosm and their work has been aired by the likes of Zane Lowe and Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 1. Aphex Twin is also an admirer and his festival playlists have contained Macc or dgoHn on more than one occasion. Now they unleash a volley of material from their collaborative archive which is set to disarm critics who thought Drum & Bass had run out of rhythms, arrangements and silly album titles. We can't resist a spot of jungle; there's just something about maniacal, time-stretched breaks and foundation-shaking, 808 basslines that brings a smile to our faces and a skip to our steps. So when 'Jungle Music' - Seba's latest effort for his own Secret Operations imprint - landed in the DT inbox, we simply had to have it.

Providing exactly what it says on the tin, 'Jungle Music' offers militant drum-work and a low end that feels like it's plummeting into oblivion, all wrapped up in an silky coat of faded pads and organic samples. The track pays homage to sounds of the mid-90s, but maintains a tight, modern edge. As we're told in a delay-soaked fashion at the very start, this is jungle...

The track is out now along with b-side 'Cloudless', but don't think Seba is resting on his laurels, as the Swede already has another release locked in for this Friday on Warm Communications.
