Introducing the first special guest of Dungeon Beats Sessions on Subtle in 2022 - a top-drawer, extremely unconventional LA-based producer Oxóssi.

He first started producing electronic music after graduating college, and started creating hip-hop beats inspired by his long time love of the genre. Oxóssi’s extensive exposure to a diverse range of music has allowed him to successfully craft his highly eclectic, ambient and bass heavy style; one that blends his deeply rooted musical upbringing with his own creative individuality. Jesse’s attitude towards bass music and community, combined with his unique take on an old school sound, is heard clearly through his music. Featured on imprints like Crucial Recordings, Deep Dark & Dangerous, Gourmet Beats or Manuka Records, Oxóssi is well on his way to infecting the underground with his mighty musical personality.

The second guest is a project started by Scotland-based Proxy & Faultlines, called CIARKI. These two Poles run a series of podcasts containing special guest mixes recorded by Polish and international  artists where a wide range of bass-driven club tools are being showcased. They spread fresh vibes to their motherland and beyond, by presenting new releases, artists and labels. CIARKI are goosebumps, emotions cumulated in digital sounds that they are broadcasting on their platform.

We’re back on the Subtle Radio airwaves with another Dungeon Beats Sessions 🔈
This month’s host, Hitman, invited a 140 heavyweight from France - Quasar and Poland-based, widely respected in the international scene - Radikal Guru.

If you don’t already know who Quasar is, you’ve got some serious catching up to do! The Parisian has been steadily stepping up his game in the past few years, quickly asserting his status as one of the leading producers of the dubstep space. Excellent production standards, extremely cohesive sound unity and perfect control of the dynamics of minimalism are just a few of the talents that Quasar shows in its production work. This is also reflected in his releases on reputable labels such as Foundation Audio, Artikal Music UK, Deep Medi, and Green King Cuts and he’s showing no sign of slowing down just yet.

The second guest, Radikal Guru, is one of the brightest lights of the roots-influenced underground community. Hailing from Poland, Mateusz Miller has pioneered a compelling and unique fusion of sounds that encompass dub, reggae and dubstep under his moniker. He melds the roots of the past with the branches of the future as few other artists can. His releases, primarily on Moonshine Recordings, have consistently impressed by crafting progressive dubwise

Supporting and promoting the underground sound was always our primary mission, so it was only natural we would undertake actions to extend this vision. Having over 20 artists on the roster and a bit of experience in publishing music has given rise to another massive compilation. This next drop sees us invite the artists we represent to the forefront and what they deliver is a true rampage of new wave & old school dubstep, halftime dnb, techno and beats impossible to pigeonhole.

‘Volume 2’ is a supreme showcase filled with top quality creations from the established faces such as Encrypted Audio bossman Content, Basskruit label owner Hebbe, Bulgarian musician, painter and part of TRIGAIDA folktronica trio Ivan Shopov (aka Balkansky aka CooH), Welsh-based prodigies LSN, Markee Ledge of Kosheen as well as bringing through relatively new talent like Romania’s Alienmade, Parisian Argo, Malta-based Volume A or German duo Roklem & Sebalo. There’s Breakfake leaning towards a more melodic instrumental notion and haunting bass of Rakjay’s ‘Tetanus’ in contrast. We also have White Peach Records proteges - 207, Ourman & Taiko delivering absolute dynamite, and legendary MC Toast putting his unique vocal signature on the collaboration with Foto Sound head honcho Unkey. This extensive project brings together the very best of what’s happening in 140 and beyond. With ‘Savage Land’ by The Untouchables, undeniable specialists in dark & tribal sounds, the release takes us down a dnb-centred route, not forgetting Kwizma’s non-dubstep contribution here. Last but not least, we have Zygos under his fresh alias FRMD, delivering a rumbling, rave-ready techno weight, rounding off the compilation in style.
