Hailing from the Bronx, NY, the DJ, and producer has been melting the decks with her heavy hybrid bass tracks. Anna does it all-- from spearheading her own label called Worst Behavior records to curating some major bass nights across the states like her infamous Heavy nights in NYC. Anna is so important to the culture because she continues to carry the torch for women in the bass scene and create spaces where female bass DJ and producers can thrive. 

Now based in Hawaii, Anna chats with Shannon about her Jamaican and Japanese roots, the importance of creating your own opportunities, and how her passion for curating events has opened up a realm of opportunities to showcase new female and LGBTQ artists coming up in the scene.

Eine kleine Ode an die Bassmusik ist der neue Podcast von @lona_my, die 2022 den DAVE DJ Contest gewonnen hat. Mit ihrer Leipziger Crew bass focus sorgt sie heute dafür, dass der Nachwuchs erste DJ-Erfahrungen sammelt. Und das, nachdem sie erst selber 2019 mit dem Auflegen angefangen hat. Zum Glück, denn ihre Sets, die mit der Formal "deep, aber vorwärts" tatsächlich gut beschrieben werden, sind düstere, aber seelenschmeichelnde Wohltaten. Das könnte durchaus auch an an ihrer Vorliebe für episches Beatmatching liegen, wie auch der Mix hier eindrucksvoll unter Beweis stellt.
