Subtle Radio Shows

This week it is our absolute pleasure to welcome @bakeymusic onto our series with a very special 100% Productions mix!!!

First capturing the UK’s attention through a number of viral edits, Bakey has gone on to establish himself as an integral figure in the contemporary UKG and Breaks scene through releases on Time Is Now, ec2a, Breaka Recordings, Pineapple Records and many more. Bakey’s sharp production is matched by his finesse in the booth. Guest mixes on Rinse, Balamii, sable and Subtle have allowed Bakey to secure bookings across the UK, shutting down venues with 23 Degrees and Keep Hush. 

For his GAB guest mix, Bakey has chosen to weaponise his arsenal of unreleased material. Kicking things off with an acid-ridden soulful breakbeat number, Bakey smoothly navigates his way through dubstep-infused breaks and sinister 2step, to close with a couple of simply outrageous edits.

Tuck into Client_03 live at fabric [25/02/2022] – taken from the masked mystery’s most recent outing in EC1 back in February where they played in Room 1 alongside DJ Assault, Simo Cell, DJ MEG G and more. Warpy, weird and wonderful. A note from the master below.

"Client_03 - Host Body Rule set. 

The Host Body is selected Through process of elimination to physically represent Client_03 in a performance setting. This is a commencalistic relationship in which Client_03 benefits and the host body feels nothing and has no recollection of the experience. 

Below is the the formula given to the host body as a base on which to elaborate for the duration of the performance. Whether or not the Host body can add have add value based on performative gestures is unclear. Future iterations may include limitations on the host body’s physical movement.

In Conclusion: 

The General progress measured through the collective appreciation of the Testbed as whole is greatly increasing. The current host body is satisfactory and will continue to serve as above with further experimentation and iteration on the process to ensure that its performance ability is viewed as <70% Favourable to the Testbed as a whole."

@Eusebeia returning to light up Croatia again for Membrain Festival2022. This versatile producer has released on @dead-mans-chest, @modernconveniences and Repertoire Sound, with a forthcoming EP for @samuraimusicgroup sees him representing the label in celebrating it's 15th year at @membrainfestival. Crowd favourite and a humble talent, we're counting the days for his return!

On a never ending mission to showcase the sounds of up and coming artists who might not be on your radar yet, we’re proud to present the super suave @niceup.uk for today’s SOLITUDE guest mix 💜

As per every mix we throw out, Niceup has loaded this one up with forthcomings and a stack of tunes that not everyone has access to.

He’s also pushed some sonics we’ve not had a great deal of on the series yet. Moving from eerie and dark techy tribal beats, through to slick electro, breaks and some PHAT wobblers on the 140 side of things. 

Niceup is living in currently living in London with monthly shows on @subtleradio & @voices_radio that go off every time. Check his linkup with the @suspect_ldn crew from last week for another fix of deep and experimental dance music. That linkup also featured the wicked @fayestagram who dropped a mix with us last week. All about those connections yanno 👊🏻

Niceup has a gig coming up with the mighty @meltoutcrew that’s yet to be announced properly so keep an eye on that one. He’s also runnnnnin it up with the famous @hoer.berlin in August which is set to be a banger.

Now is a good time to follow Niceup and keep an eye on his movements. He’s working heavily on his own productions. And with a passion for the music that he’s got combined with an ear for those proper low-key slammers, you can bet his tracks will be sounding sick when they see the light of day 🌞
