Banoffee Pies Records drop the 13th release in the original series. This VA entitled "Common Ground" is a crossover of influences from 4 artists with a selection of tracks all above 150bpm from producers of a similar generation giving a nod to their youth and early musical journeys, largely inspired by Drum & Bass and Jungle raves across the UK.

The release divided in two with a Dark A side and Light B side offering two moods of liquidity. The opening track "Class Of '92" comes from Leeds based Lisene, one half of the Space Cadets duo, with previous releases on Seven Hill Records and more. The A2 from Bristol based Hartta offers a more spooked bass heavy cut with "Hauntology".

The B side begins with title track "Common Ground", an ode to dusted jungle and liquid drum & bass from another Leeds head Sourpuss, known for running the Stretchy Dance Supply parties. The last track on the disc "Vapour" comes from Manchester's Interplanetary Criminal. With his UKG EP "Move Tools" on BP010 landing on the label and many dance floors at the end of 2019, this nostalgic drum scattered jungle cut stylishly closes off the compilation. Limited Press. “I had a lot of fun working with this selection, especially because there are a lot of tracks I would be quite nervous about mixing at the events/live, not only from a purely technical point of view but also because at many events that I play I unnecessarily pressure myself to stay within the 'required/expected genres', especially if I play on a mainly cis male line up. Whereas in reality, mixing the genres up and creating a narrative is my favourite part of DJing! I am starting the mix with Arca's recent release 'Nonbinary', which feels very personal to me, coming out as non-binary not too long ago. To some extent, I feel this mix explores my own gender identity, and overall emotional state at the moment, - going from intense, to dancey and upbeat, to dark, and to deconstructed.
With this mix, I felt very liberated to explore my own music taste and show the versatility of what I am into.”

"Regardless of the direction they take sonically, my mixes are generally created with clubs in mind. So for my Pollination mix it was a lot of fun to go in the opposite direction and dig out records that aren't designed for the dancefloor. Rather than a focus on blends and beat matching, it's much more of a collage that fluctuates between ambient, R&B, jazzy bits and anything else I might put on when I'm just listening to my records. I'd like to think of it as a mix that would be good to listen to after a rave (remember those?) or when you're just winding down. Massive love to the Pollination crew, not just for asking to me contribute, but also for challenging me to step outside of my comfort zone!
