DAVID PHOENIX is the alias of Hungarian DJ & Producer David Janecska, an artist whose career within electronic music spans two decades and a multitude of genres. Fast forward three years and DAVID PHOENIX has become one of the fastest-growing names in the minimal techno world with numerous releases on many of the genre’s most respected labels, including Music4Aliens, Subios, Techgnosis Records, and more. DAVID PHOENIX’s releases repeatedly chart amongst Beatport’s “Top 100” most popular tracks, and have carried him to stages worldwide from his native Hungary to Mexico, India, Saudi Arabia, and beyond. In 2023, DAVID PHOENIX has capitalized on these successes with the launch of his VISION SERPENT imprint, a record label that stands out with its unique concept and delivers quality minimal and psytech releases. In August, I had the incredible opportunity to perform @kater_blau Berlin. My set was scheduled for the Heinz Hopper floor, from 2 to 4 AM on Friday night, rolling into the early hours of Saturday. The atmosphere was electric, and the crowd was completely in sync with the music. Despite the late hour, the energy never wavered, and there was a certain magic in the air that made the night unforgettable. Every beat seemed to resonate deeper, creating a connection between everyone on the dance floor that felt almost otherworldly. It was a night where time stood still, and the music carried us through till dawn.

Svenski moves between the realms of Techno and Ecstatic Dance, embodying both the driving force of hypnotic techno and the transformative energy of Ecstatic Dance.

His musical journey began at the age of 6 starting to play the keyboard. At 18 he experienced his first techno party in the legendary U60311 in Frankfurt. Some years and many raving experiences later, he had developed a strong passion for electronic music and started mixing his favorite sounds.

When it comes to techno, svenski loves a dark and playful sound - driving, minimal techno with psychedelic elements is the foundation. For him, it is all about creating a journey with his music sets and he is happy to share some of his favorite tracks with this episode of Grauton Podcast!
