Appearing on cult labels such as Mechatronica, Aperitif De La Mort and Up North Records, Kluentah churns out proper good electro. Hard, mechanical and rough around the edges. Lee Cee is a Scottish DJ based in Paisley. She started collecting vinyl in '97 and has always brought an eclectic sensibility to her sets with varied tastes often focused on Techno, Acid,and Electro.She began her journey on the underground Free Party scene as well as her hometown club, the legendary Club 69 in 2002 and has supported well-renowned selectors such as DJ Pierre, Nightwave, Co-Accused, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Jerome Hill, and Maria Chavez. She has also been a resident for Tech-Know Radio on Glasgow’s Groove City Radio since 2019 and is one-half of turntablist duo The Paisley Tapes.

You can catch Lee Cee at The Berkeley Suite, Glasgow on 12th April supporting Co-Accused and UK electro legend, Radioactive Man.

Last Saturday, London-based techno producer @dying_in_beauty performed an all vinyl DJ set at Inverted Audio Record Store in Peckham to mark the release of ‘In Praise In Shadows’ EP issued through his own Rhythm Without Reason imprint.

A very big thank you to everyone that made it down to the store, the main man played a slamming techno set and his EP is now sold out! The fourth instalment of our podcast sees us return to the far North, where we find amongst the foothills of the ragged highlands Glaswegian based friend and artist Kairogen - whose careful devotion to the mixing craft has seen her grow from strength to strength in recent years. A regular behind the decks at the iconic Subclub, we were delighted to bring Kairogen down to Leeds for our launch party where we were totally captivated by an enchanting session that drove us deep into the night.

For this episode the drums do sound in the deep, with an expertly curated hour of deep, tribal rhythms and textures to awaken our most basest of instincts. Join us as we embark into the swirling mists of the swamplands, stomping to the incantations of our shaman lords, ever bending towards the light fantastic.

"I wanted this mix to be dark and… almost boring. With repetitive noises, echoes, without any breakdowns or groove. To bring back the sound from times when techno was a form of almost a rebellion, played in dark basements and warehouses - with poor lighting and with people wearing plain comfortable clothes. It’s again this idea of a party where the DJ is invisible, and the only thing they do is make people forget about the reality."

Bio: 
ona:v is a Polish-born DJ, producer and promoter with an ear for textural techno and dark electro. A scientist by day and a DJ by night, the Edinburgh-based artist is an integral figure in her locale, both as a DJ and through event curation.

Having built an extensive track collection for several years, ona:v debuted on Edinburgh’s club circuit in 2019, with bookings across the UK making up her diary since. On home turf, ona:v plays regular gigs in Scotland’s biggest venues, having supported Ben Klock, SLAM, Fjaak, Anne, Isabel Soto, Clouds, EKATA and many others. Outside of Scotland, she closed for Clouds and Randomer at The Cause, played at London’s Risen and Necropolis Festivals and in Berlin’s Mensch-Meier and About Blank. 2022 saw her Polish debut, and in 2021/22 she streamed from Berlin’s HÖR Radio. More recently, for two years in a row, she headlined the basement stage curated by Sisu at Hidden Door — a prolific visual art and music festival in Edinburgh, and performed multiple times at Scotland’s biggest festival – Terminal V.

In 2020, ona:v founded EPiKA, and started promoting EPiKA’s bi-monthly party called CiRCLE in Edinburgh. Here, she creates a nurturing environment for beginner female and non-binary DJs playing more underground flavours of electronics, with focus on techno. She also garners a radio residency on London’s Threads Radio and is an internal member and a resident DJ with the Sisu crew. Production-wise, she has released techno and electro tracks on multiple compilations and released her debut EP, Response to the Techno Crisis, on Diffuse Reality in 2022.
