Belgian Thomas Blanckaert aka Innershades debuts in Cartulis with what could be his strongest work to date. 5 tracks representing his best shades of Techno/Electro.

Flip the record and you will find Heaven on Earth. Rolling techno with class synths. B2 The Acid Never Dies comes in original Innershades formula. Powerful kicks with uplifting chords and pads while the acid stimulates the brain. The Last Day closes the EP with literally a "closing" feeling.

Die Orakel long time collaborator @edward gracefully reappears with a three track emission called Time Stretch. Edward’s appliance of the titular technique is not restricted to various sonic elements at all, as it extends to the tracks’ mental notes and their trajectories beyond the digital realm. 

Time Stretch fills the entire side A with vibrant sonic elements, a warm bassline along an eerie pad, all on top of a straight and punchy bass drum. La Grotta’s signature melody, plus chirps and cowbells, inject a slight touch of exotica to the musical meta-data, while time stretch artefacts refer back to a befittingly themed EP. Finally, the undercurrents of Black Sea evolve along a modulated melodic pad, a pulsating bass and beat structure, and a light 90s IDM morse figure on top of frequency sweeps.

This release is gifted by a special remix from someone who need no introductions today : Chris carrier aka Mr Georget delivers a dope remix of one of the track that Franck already released on Home Invasion called Yabba.. The idea was to give to our favourite remixers (cause we got some good guys coming up aswell) the freedom to choose one of the tracks that they really like from the label.Mr Georget gave us a deep and hypnotic feeling on this one and we already love it it here; that’s why we choosed to press it has a 45 rpm full side to give him the best sound and dynamics. 
On the other side Franck give us 809, a track wich is the result of the sync between the 909 and the 808 together when it comes to speak about drum and some synths delighted by his own secret.
Bugz is a simple ruff track coming out from the MPC wich we can ear from the drums, and some stabs samples coming thru his Vermona filter and passing by some external effects.. in and out its all about the jam here ☺

Düsseldorf’s finest Jan Schulte makes his Dekmantel debut with Peace Moves, an EP of percussive soul, that captures the Salon Des Amateurs resident in full, tribal swing. Four tracks of informed, well-paced grooves, and finely crafted beats that extenuate the German’s penchant for the mature, and fun loving heads. 

It’s 2017, and finally Dekmantel have released music by the almighty percussion master Jan Schulte. The handsome German is indeed selective with the music he releases, making this a fine catch for the Dutch label. A tastemaker, and architect behind some of today’s premium records, Schulte’s hit-making record to date is without question. Whether he’s recording as Wolf Müller or Bufiman, or teaming up with Young Marco as Young Wolf, Schulte has fine-tuned the knack of channeling his profoundly deep record collection through his sentimental, and buoyant music. 

“This EP is a pretty accurate conclusion of the vision behind all the music I produced as Bufiman,” Schulte states. “It contains heavy but positive rhythmic dance tracks that combine all my musical influences, along with the right amount of humour.” 

Peace Moves encapsulates where Bufiman currently sits as an artist, taking on board influences such as Mantronix, Rick James, Style Wars, Wild Life, and Adventure Time with Finn and Jake (of course). The title track is packed with funk, and melody, with some deep strings and Casio magic. It’s the kind of record you can already hear being played on the Selectors stage in the Amsterdamse Bos, on a sprightly summer day, with the sunlight breaking through the trees. On the remix is Dj Normal 4, reimagining the beats in early 90s, old-school fashion. Schulte also drops the Pulse Mix, a 110 bpm alternative, techno version of the title track. The EP concludes with ‘Graffiti Moves’, a psychedelic crash of twisted funk, conjured out of the fine-looking German’s well-honed MPC. 

As part of the legion of new-wave connoisseurs from the heart of Düsseldorf, and the collective that is Themes for Great Cities, Schulte’s avant garde tastes, and dedication to adventurous dance music is expertly captured on the new Dekmantel record. Following on from Schulte’s 2015 Dekmantel podcast – a mix of unyielding, far-out music - Peace Moves is all about Bufiman; ‘positivity, friendship, really good humour, cartoons, and straight up dance.’
