After production delays in 2021, LDI Records present their fourth release and the debut solo EP from Texan electro producer Terrestrial Access Network - Distant Lands for release this January. The EP is drawn from the artist's shifting and hectic nomadic existence around the rattling expanse of the United States presenting 5 original cerebral electro tracks, backed up with a spooked out remix from Delsin Records’ Versalife aka Conforce.

Based in Austin, Texas, a city famous for its hyper-vibrant creative musical scene, Terrestrial Access Network feeds from the energy of this environment just as much as the desert that surrounds it. His day to day life involves travelling for near constant work projects - spending days and weeks away from home in what is a hectic lifestyle. In the feelings he channels when writing Distant Lands - he is pulled back towards the energy of the serene and calm landscape while on the road dealing with an unsettled nature of life and his profession.

Terrestrial Access Network began releasing music as recently as 2019 with tracks picked up for compilations on Swiss label Dionysian Mysteries. With a sound that is expert at creating powerfully immersive heads down moments for the dancefloor TAN has driven this EP with an ever present and intoxicating mechanical funk.

MSOM - Staying Local

MSOM returns with his second EP ‘Staying Local’, largely inspired by his experience of living in Cliftonville, Margate, which was recently voted the 8th coolest neighbourhood in the world.

Released as a collaboration between Ali Renault’s VIVOD label and DIY label The Fearless Few co-founded by Mikkelsen, the EP features five original tracks and five remixes available on cassette (including download) or as a download only. 

Prompted by the disproportionately high incidence of Tesla owners in one of Britain’s poorest towns, ‘Speed Freak’ - the opening track - references the YouTube phenomenon where EV drivers take unsuspecting passengers for a ride, hoping to capture their visceral reaction to the sudden acceleration of the powerful vehicle. It really is a thing!    

Using a lengthy excerpt from an interview with astronaut Donald Pettit, ‘Frontier Living’ draws parallels between life on the International Space Station and life in Margate (recently dubbed the Death Star of Thanet in an infamous newspaper article). 

Astonished by the often vitriolic debates that raged on social media during Covid, ‘Dr Surf’ highlights the slight absurdity of self taught individuals taking on the scientific community on the basis of information garnered from their own echo chambers. 

‘Hounds of Cliftonville’ poses the question whether Covid brought about another pandemic locally, with the size of the canine population having pretty much exploded since the pandemic. 

‘Escape to the Avenues’, meanwhile, tells the tale of nouveau locals escaping the mean streets of Cliftonville (and its primary schools), exchanging the latter for a more palatable alternative with sea views and palm trees.

For its second release of 2023, Marginal Returns presents its most anticipated - and largest - output to date. Levat is a decade-plus friend of the label, and like us, has always believed that good things come to those who wait. It has been an absolute pleasure seeing his musical career come in full blossom, with an all hardware, fully bespoke live set that is still the talk of each and every town it has visited. 
Live Cutz collects some favourites from the first couple of years of live performances: an all bases covered selection of functional club music providing every angle of “our” groove. From side A’s tougher, peaky moments, the mood switches directly to B1’s technicolour explosion ‘Vai’ and the introspective, grooving B2 ‘M-City’. C1’s ‘Re-Merge’ is a contemporary reimagining of electroclash. C2, ‘BL9’, is a collaboration with the infamous Bruno Schmidt - resulting in a textured, heads-down, tracky roller. Side D strikes a more pensive note, with the acidic infinity of ‘Ice’ and melancholically melodic sign off ’Luv 22’.

Formidable UK artist Harrison BDP is next up for our highly anticipated second release on E&X.

His “Far Away EP” covers a little of everything musically from throbbing modern progressive house tones right through to crisp atmospheric breakbeats and even a touch of the balearic.

Joining Harrison on the record we have invited Italian maestro Alex Neri for remix duties, with over thirty plus years as a DJ & producer Alex is synonymous for his sophisticated classics penning many early 90’s house hits as well recently finding fresh success on reputable imprints such as Slow Life and his own Wildflower records, we are absolutely delighted to welcome such a legendary figure to the label with his unique style & sound. 

I’m sure you will agree we have brought together two titans of the electronic music scene on this record and it does not disappoint.
