Our most emotive record to date... 3 years in the making, our 15th release on the label comprises five evocative, glossy cuts produced by an incredibly talented artist and very good friend of ours; Wyatt (@jwyatt). His ‘Netherwood’ EP is a time capsule back to his hometown Norwich, turning memories into alchemical moments, a sensory voyage of stripped-back breakbeat, travel intercom samples and ear-worm melodies. 

This record is an indefinable sculpture of synth melodies nestled between weightless ambient, a shadow-cast realm of melancholy and introversion, joining the hands of broken beat and synth lines into a melodic collaboration, drunk on its private thoughts. 

Sometimes, existential introspection happens through external movement. ‘Netherwood’ is a catalyst for those epiphanies.

He got away with murder most of the time; all he had to do was get on the charm offensive and any negative feelings towards him seemed to disappear. Some would say it was a skill, one perfected through years of practice - sometimes he could wriggle out of situations with just a smile and a wink. It was inevitable that at some point he wouldn't get off so lightly, a time would come where he'd overstep the mark and the world would come crashing down around him.

For the second release on his Dynamics Of Acid imprint MOY joins forces with mystery man Zodiac Childs for a split EP that explores the pair's shared love of electro, breaks and hardcore. Separately the pair have notched up EPs for Nocta Numerica, Batrachian, Exalt Records, Further Electronix and their own labels, and now they're coming together to each share an original cut backed up by a remix of one another's work. Packed full of anthemic melodies, acid madness and thunderous bass, the four tracks showcase the synergy between the two artists and their knack for capturing the euphoria of the 90s.

Basic Moves welcomes Chicago-born artist Dana Kuehr onto its roster this October with Basic Moves 18, comprised of six original compositions to make up her debut release dubbed the WTRTMPL 2x12’’ EP.

Originally hailing from the south of Chicago before venturing further afield to New York, Oakland and eventually Belgium’s Brussels, Dana Kuehr has been gradually forming her own unique vision of electronic music over the years. As a DJ, Kuehr’s sets on Brussels’ Kiosk Radio traverse through everything from jungle to hip hop, IDM, ambient, House, Techno and much more. Here though, Dana marks the beginning of a new chapter with her debut release coming via the Basic Moves imprint, helmed by producer and DJ, Walrus, out of the Belgian capital. BM18, known internally as the WTRTMPL 2x12’’ project, is Dana's homage to a beautiful lake of pure, clear water. Dan Piu (Moto Music, Cartulis, Childhood Intelligence) delivered warm and punchy mixdown work from his Zurich studio for the release.

Opening the release is ‘How Do We Continue’, a hazy journey through ethereal synth pads, throbbing bass, crisp percussion, and bubbling arpeggios before ‘Almagest Slide’ shifts focus over to bumpy breaks and dreamy atmospherics alongside intricately processed samples and gritty bass stabs. ‘Cloud B’ follows next and edges back into deeper realms courtesy of woozy, haunting pad lines, robust drums, and subtly nuanced delays throughout.

‘Great Lakes Empty Branches’ then kicks off the C-Side of the double pack, embracing an electro leaning aesthetic courtesy of crunchy claps, sturdy drums, a chuggy arpeggio bass hook and dynamic, resonant leads though. ‘Realm 8’ follows, exploring some jungle and hip hop influence with heavy doses of sub bass, choppy broken rhythms, and hazy Moog like synth melodies. ‘BECAUSE’ rounds out the release next with euphoric vocals and textural atmospherics gliding above swinging percussion and mesmeric, circling synth lines to complete the package.

"Jump Jazz" EP by Temple launches Super Fresh, a label dedicated to reviving forward-thinking electronic music from the past. This record features our favorite tracks from three sought-after EPs created between 1996 and 1999 and released on Download Records and Experience Grooves.

Temple, the project of Tim Lawes and John Cody, gained its original momentum with the help of Steve Mason and Intergroove Distribution. Their music, blending up-tempo tech house with breaks, techno, trance, and everything in between, is as relevant to modern dancefloors as never before.

All tracks have been restored and remastered from the original DAT tapes. Beyond this, we have access to the full Temple archive, covering nearly a hundred of unreleased tracks, demos and sketches, so stay tuned for the next announcements.
