@orlando-voorn is back on Multiplex alongside the label debut of @lucalozano! This new 12” compilation format is curated by Steen Kong. The concept of Obey The Night is to pit two producers against one another, each deliver an original track as well as a remix of the others work. The result is for the floor.

First up is Orlando Voorn, who Multiplex previously has released under his electro alias Ultra. This time though, Voorn supplies a beyond-groovy house tune in “Pull Up”, and his remix of Luca Lozano’s “People Person”, a deep thumper of a track. Not surprisingly, both have amble Detroit feeling.

On the flip side Luca Lozano kicks off with his percussive-heavy and quickly intensifying original “People Person”. This is followed by his take on Orlando Vorn’s track - and the ensuing “Luca Lozano Praise Baruka Remix” is a brilliant match of the individual sonic mindsets of the two producers.

Long time underground legend Dan Curtin once again delivers some hot property, that electronic music tastemakers and revered diggers will have a joy in adding to their bag. The sought after '99 release Spatial Relationships sees the light of day once more, remastered and repressed. An integral release from the American producers back catalogue on the vital Metamorphic's Recordings. 

Opener Crazy Life is an energetic brew of dancing drums and busy hits all run through with some superbly cosmic synths. It is electrifying to say the least. She Thinks She's So Smooth is a hi tech house cut with exquisite drum programming and tripped out synths and chords that lend it a late night feel. It is filled with machine soul and future vibes and then gets followed by An Up The Wall Drive, which is pure Motor City techno with its warped bass and hyperdrive hits all underpinned by slick drum work. 

This is a timeless masterpiece from this long time pioneer, if you are not familiar with this one already, sit tight and enjoy the ride.

Guest mix #88 Johnny Wilson for Deeprhythms

Originally recorded to cassette, these five acidic tracks from Spanish-born producer and record store owner Dip Shim are a paean to his neighbourhood in Malmö, Sweden.

The breadth of styles across the EP is impressive, taking in uplifting techno, mid-tempo electro, banging acid, and ambient, all created with classic analogue machines, suffused throughout with that warm tape sound and sweet sweet 303.

The third edition of the Exit Planet Earth vinyl series features four more exclusive intergalactic selections from Ralph Lawson.
'Exit Planet Earth - Nitrogen' features a selection of pioneers and up and coming talent. First up is a true legend of the UK electro scene, Keith Tenniswood aka ‘Radioactive Man’, who creates a constantly evolving sonic trip called ‘One Out’. Watch out for the surprise sting in its tail too. Sharing the A side is the incredibly talented Spanish producer Annie Hall, arriving fresh from her stunning CPU releases. Annie creates melodic landscapes, layered with intricate string orchestration driven by deep bass.
On the flip side Helsinki-based Sunny Seppä aka Sansibar shows exactly why he is fast becoming hot property following his immense debut album on FTP - ‘Targeted Individuals’. Sansibar brings the record back to the 4/4 with a flowing yet subtle working of synths and pads. Also based in Finland yet hailing from Holland is VC-118A, who previously caught our attention with his track ‘PCB’ a firm favourite at Exit Planet Earth events. VC118-A delivers some deep space dub with expertly crafted production centring on low end theory.
