A new split release on Connectome Records from Signal 72 and Fro. Dark electro with a modern twist and robotic rhythms. Tracks written on modular synthesizers, full of deep analog sounds, transport you to a dark and futuristic mood. The artists have created a flawless partnership and exchanged remixes.

 Information about the artists:

Signal72 is a South London-born, Boston-based music producer with a passion for the darker, left-field edges of electro, techno, and EBM. A devoted synthesizer tinkerer, he crafts immersive, boundary-pushing sounds that reflect his curiosity for the underground and his drive to explore electronic music in unexpected ways.

Fro is a producer and Dj based in Athens Greece . 

His style is a combination of electro with ebm aesthetics and with a wide range of frequencies between breaks and techno as well

He is the 1/2 Monodroids electro project along RLCT 

Resident member of Society3000 collective and host of Slam! Athens Queer Rave Parties along ClubKid

He has released music with many electro labels such as Division Virtuel , Urban Distortions , Urban Connections , Tripalium Corp , Microm Records and others

He has also shared the stage with huge names of the scene such as Luke Slater, Jensen Interceptor, Massimiliano Pagliara , Curses , Boris and many many others

With a string of sought after releases since launching last year, London label OPIA are set to debut their sub label, Euphoric State. The London based label have built a solid reputation in a short space of time with 6 releases since 2018, releasing many respected names that position themselves firmly in the underground. 

EuphoricState001 is a certain nod to sounds of the past as they call on A² and Stopouts for the inaugural release, known best for their adventures on Alien Recordings in the late 90’s. The ‘Go With the Flo’ EP is the outcome of several studio sessions between 1998 and 2002 at Penthouse Studios (positioned at the top of their parents house). 

Opener ‘You Gotta’ picks up the pace from the off, swooshing pads create a dream like state, opposed to the slick drum work involved. Keeping it driving on the A side is ‘Bliss’ pushing tribal drums but elements from the title exist through out. 

On the B side ‘Techfest’ comes in more sub heavy, with trance like keys progressing the track, more broken and building compared to the other tracks. Rounding off the Euphoric State launch is ’Suits You’ killer highs, and wavy elastic synths are the flavour here.

The next chapter for Haŵs actualises itself in the form of Dawl’s ‘Break It Down’ EP, a warehouse-ready, bouncy and charismatic record channelling insatiable vigour from beginning to end. 

‘Break It Down’ on the A-side is a relentless jackhammer of a track, pumped full of rich breaks and clipped acid lines. ‘Subject 91’ flattens the gas pedal even further, with a gated, spectral synth levitating hazily above the militant drums that heave the whole track forward. 

On the B-side, the brawny ‘Proton’ returns to the acidic burn of the opening track, except this one is occupied by chirping synths and oscillations of noise that seem to rise and fall with a trippy authority. Finally, high-flyer and man of the moment Kosh employs his natural gift of the gab on the closing remix of ‘Break It Down’ with a raucous rhythm and a regurgitated bassline that never dwindles on its own gusto.

Despite the substantial weight and pugnacity of this 4-tracker, the staple Haŵs euphoria twinkles through. There’s no shortage in complex drum sequencing, breaks samples and all the other frills, yet the final output is compact and neat. As Haŵs increases its vision more extensively to dance music from across the board, it seems that the best things might at times come as contradictions, and this record’s tone certainly fits the bill.
