Arturo (@arturohernzama) is a hidden gem in the uruguayan electronic music scene. Having started to produce in 2007, he became friends with Luis Malon and they shared the creative journey of music for many years and keep on. Arturo’s direct and loose style shows the skills of an experienced producer with an endless creativity and a keen sense for the groove. This release selects some of his more recent productions and presents his amazing sound to a world that has been needing Arturo’s freshness and quality.

Needs continue their journey into the future of vinyl production, partnering with Green Vinyl Records in Holland to produce a 100% recyclable record which now uses 90% less energy cost compared to traditional vinyl production methods. This revolutionary chapter in vinyl history features the production skills of Maara, Priori, Rudolf C & HearThug.

For Needs 010 we welcome yet another all-star lineup of producers from around the world across vinyl and digital formats. Featuring trancey techno from Montreal’s rising star Maara; chuggy, percussive, mysticism from Priori; sultry minimal grooves from Berlin based Rudolf C, and a constantly evolving spacey acid banger from Tunisia’s leading light HearThug.

Tribe is a record label created by like-minded artists from Barcelona, with a bold purpose of generating and sharing their idea of timeless electronic music. The debut EP Tribe01 comprises four different yet catchy and charismatic tunes that meet at the same point –  the dance floor. 

As you take off from the A side, you discover an audioreactive tune “Inertia” – a creation of Baraso & Sonodab aka Barson. The track has a genuine ravy soul spiced with an acid touch and a memorable pad that will get stuck in your head. 
As you continue exploring A side, you recognize the 1996 masterpiece “Hamstrung” by Freddy Fresh aka Modulator, head of Analog Records USA. This exclusive re-edit made with Freddy’s permission has a legendary groove of 90’s and filtered hats that make a good party great.

Moving on to the B side, you meet a serious dance floor burner “Chromatic Life” – a creation of Artes. The track is a travel towards the unknown depth of acid, house and techno sounds – a journey you want to make.

As you finish your sound voyage, you discover a phenomenal “Gravitron” by a mastermind John Shima. The track breathes a melancholic tune, garnished with John’s unique charisma: detroitish pads, acid elements, and a well-balanced groove that will hypnotize with its vibe.

Slovenian producer, promoter and curator Eliaz is one of the leading figures in his local scene. Landing on UK label Cartulis Music last year, Eliaz has since built strong footholds across Europe with further releases via EYA Records, Paris-based Rakya and two EP's on Italian label, YAY. Gigs at revered clubs have followed, including performances at London's FOLD and even Berlin's Hoppetosse. 

He now lands on the newly-founded, Subterranean Odyssey with 'Instals' EP. Forming the first release for the label, the tracks on 'Instals' EP are representative of the deep connection between Eliaz and the Leed-based label owners.  The A-side 'More Acid Please' holding a particularly special place in their hearts. 

Bars of orbiting chords and gurgling flourishes give way to an arrangement of taut kicks and sharp snares, the foundation of this tracks transmissible groove. Underpinned by a low-slung melody, the main method to this tune's hand-wafting madness lies in the dense, acid licked mid-section.

Sometimes it can take a few releases for labels to find their musical footing, sometimes it can take years, but sometimes a special label starts with blistering musical confidence that it feels they can't put a foot wrong, take Italian label Point of Art for instance. Label head matteo christened the label with an EP of his own, shifting between both pumping and esoteric house whilst the label's second release featured a various compilation from three relatively new producing artists on their scene in Denalia, matteo and The Hush, with what has quickly become a signature style of quirky house that's oozing with personality.
