Having established himself as Progressive Trance (Protonica) producer and DJ Piet Kämpfer explores a new contempory direction into Melodic Techno.
Now based in Berlin, Piet uses his experience in writing melodies, leads and sequences for Protonica to form his new style a combination of Techno and Elements of Trance.
Because of his roots in Berlin, Techno is and has been part of his life and inspiration for a long time.

For a long time, melodies were frowned upon in techno, but now with the new music genre "Melodic Techno", the mostly rather minimal beats are combined with the harmonic to create something new.
In a world that is becoming more complex and darker, "Melodic Techno" brings the simple but also the positive back into music and thus creates a new zeitgeist.

His first single „The Origin" brings back Piet's first steps in producing - when it was easy fun, spending hours in the studio and just going with the flow.

Next on ICONYC we welcome Rafa’EL to the label with his brand new single 'I Will Not Forget You’. Hailing from Poland Rafa’EL has been a regular on some of the world’s finest labels with his progressive and melodic techno influenced driving productions. Rafa’EL is ready to unleash what is easily his best body of work to date. 'I Will Not Forget You’ features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive house vibes to satisfy ambient, uplifting and feel good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release.

On remix duty we have Stan Kolev who needs no introduction. The Outta Limits boss’s maturity and musical development is in full swing, as Stan kicks off proceedings with a deep, hypnotic beat which is interspersed with subtle effective percussion a profound floaty grooves and indie influences, turning this one into an underground anthem with a very soul tangling appeal. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the remix underpinned by a staccatoed bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect.

Next up we’re extremely excited to welcome back Dutch sound professors Mononoid who deliver another gem with their dance floor-oriented rework. Their remix is interspersing with roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. Mononoid manage to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. Essential stuff from Mononoid.

Support from Patrick Topping, Camelphat, Christoph and Rex The Dog saw the pair's music played at some of the biggest European festivals, clubs and radio networks including Tomorrowland, Kappa Futur Festival, DC10, Glastonbury & BBC Radio 1. Market Memories followed up with two track EP 'The Charm'. Offering us a deeper insight into their sound, our attention is directed to a more intimate and emotive state, while still maintaining a powerful and driving dance floor presence.

The E.P's lead track 'The Charm' is remixed here by Elliot Adamson, the super-prolific producer from North East England who has flexed his muscles on labels like Weapons, Me, Me Me, Edible Beats and Hot Creations as well as Melbournite Rory Marshall who showcases his very own style of late night house music.
