When you produce a track with Gabriel the key ingredient is to have fun. Which begins with putting on a creative fun outfit before you sit down and go into music nerd mode behind your computer. This was the start of Glitter & Litter. A collection of glittery ideas and some littery ones we couldn't get rid of.

So we did. Honestly, after 27 years of producing techno it can be a bit boring to produce so it was fun to work together and get some ideas and vibes. Next on ICONYC we welcome Rafa’EL to the label with his brand new single 'I Will Not Forget You’. Hailing from Poland Rafa’EL has been a regular on some of the world’s finest labels with his progressive and melodic techno influenced driving productions. Rafa’EL is ready to unleash what is easily his best body of work to date. 'I Will Not Forget You’ features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive house vibes to satisfy ambient, uplifting and feel good needs, which are the keywords for this beautiful and extraordinary release.

On remix duty we have Stan Kolev who needs no introduction. The Outta Limits boss’s maturity and musical development is in full swing, as Stan kicks off proceedings with a deep, hypnotic beat which is interspersed with subtle effective percussion a profound floaty grooves and indie influences, turning this one into an underground anthem with a very soul tangling appeal. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the remix underpinned by a staccatoed bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect.

Next up we’re extremely excited to welcome back Dutch sound professors Mononoid who deliver another gem with their dance floor-oriented rework. Their remix is interspersing with roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. Mononoid manage to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. Namatjira returns to Manual Music with the first single from his forthcoming artist album ‘Moons of Yesterday’. Joost Van der Vleuten aka Namatjira has been a beloved fixture of the electronic underground for well over a decade.  The Dutch artist has showcased his music on some of the industry’s blue-chip imprints, most notably Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Anjunadeep and Armada. Joost’s unique take on melodic house has also seen him remix some of electronic music’s biggest stars in Armin Van Buuren and Guy J. Now landing back on Paul Hazendonk’s flagship imprint with a prelude to his impending artist album, Namatjira unveils its first single entitled ‘I’ll Kill You’. 

Firmly sitting amongst progressive music’s elite, it is now Namatjira’s masterstroke to utilize one of the genre’s nostalgic vocals for his album’s inaugural single. Jennifer Horne’s devilishly seductive ‘I’ll Kill You’ saw its initial release in June of 2005 via John Digweed’s Bedrock Records. Now reborn for 2020, Namatjira crafts a tough groove and sultry rhythmic structures to anchor its timeless beauty. Highly dramatic throughout; ghostly vocal phrases, granular swells and astral effects converge for moments of sonic integrity, while percussive flurries and emerging atmospheres add to its mystical charm. Continuing to rise into the main break, the vocal narrative reaches a smoldering peak, before uniting with a gentle rush of noise for an elegant crescendo and emotive finale. An auspicious prelude which whet’s the appetite for what promises to be an excellent artist album from Namatjira. ‘Moons of Yesterday’ sees it’s official release in June of 2020.
