while i was minding my own business, 
i caught a 'bass line so dope that you just might choke'. 🔥
the track involved, Doin' Our Own Dang by The Jungle Brothers,
instantly got us inspired to make a track... 

Our friend Maarten Emanuel (@maartenemanuel) recorded the bassline on his 1964 pre-cbs Fender precision bass. The bass went through a tube amp with a light overdrive and was compressed with a 1176 compressor.

fyi: the part about choking on the bassline isn't how i usually talk,
but it's part of the original song and also a part of the sucre.

club atelier in amsterdam. 
the past few weeks i played different parties, venues and settings. 
this enabled me to collect new favourites,
due to some new subgenres I got acquainted with. 
ofcourse, all of the tracks have something in common: 
they are nice. i promise.
so, as the season turned cold and dark, 
i think it's time to team up and dance the shivering cold away.

i felt really flattered the moment i was invited for this one.
the nice guy who thought about me is a friend & loyal supporter,
who was planning to throw a proper party with his bud'.
they decided their party should contain some sucre. house, 
which meant that i set foot at club nl for the very first time.
this intimate club where red lights made me feel comfortable,
and where the quality of the sound was excellent.
together with a cheerful group of dancing partypeepz,
warming up the place before brian s. & frederik abas was a stunning job to do.
next to this blissful experience it got me some rather unexpected,
an invite to play at my dj-homie's legendary bday afterparty...
which meant a new chapter of sweet adventures had begun!

once upon a time we were on holiday to a place where i always get inspired,
'cause they mainly play disco, jazz and soulful house over there.
while i was enjoying my breakfast, Tim Deluxe's 'LOVE is' came on,
with its emotional sax riff, impressive jazzy sound and touching lyrics.
it was kind of overwhelming, the way the song affected me....
i immediately knew this meant something special;
as i stumbled on this track one week earlier, 
while we were looking into some producers from 'back in the day'.
it was meant to be, pouring some sucre. on this track.
for me, love is being able to share your greatest passion with those who love it too.

this is sucre., and my mission is to make people dance, laugh and have fun by sharing my passion for funky, jackin' & minimal house with them. music and dancing practically fulfil my primary needs and for me, playing a set means creating a composition. the tracks all connect, tell a story and should complement the moment we are in. next to bringing joy and candy i love to take my own tracks to the dancefloor, produced in collaboration with my hubby rutger. 

for me, Amsterdam Open Air has something mesmerizing from the moment i heard about it. the first conversation I had with rutger was the night before he visited your festival. at the time, i was a true rookie regarding partying at clubs and festivals, and he got me carried away from that moment on… he told me about the adventures he and his friends had at festivals and about playing at wicked places. his stories lingered in my head and merged with our shared love for jackin' house music, in my opinion one of the finest ingredients for a good, intimate and crazy party. those cheerful funky beats, cheeky bass lines, cute sounds and its positive energy brings instant happiness to everyone who experiences it. 
over the years a certain vision about this sound and vibe has developed into my head in which all of this comes together. you could say that it is kind of an ode to @stanislav-sympatico(the dj duo rutger and rick formed which will be legendary to me forever) and my sincere wish to share this housy sound with as many souls as possible. 

the feeling of ultimate joy and happiness i got by playing their mainstage and hearing my music come out of them big ass' speakers was out of this world. i couldn't wish for a better festival debute and i am forever reminiscing on this perfect day. thank you @amsterdam-open-air!! ❤️

it's time for some sweet pride celebrations! 🦄

i am still buzzing from playing at one of amsterdam's most iconic parties during amsterdam pride: amstelveld pride.
last year i had the pleasure to be their backstagemanager and it became one of my favourite parties ever since. year after year it delivers a stunning line-up consisting nothing but the finest house dj's amsterdam has to offer... so playing there immediately got on my bucketlist.
receiving the good news from their programmer @carlosvaldesmuzik that i was invited to open amstelveld pride saturday got me full of joy!! 😍

a couple days before the event i got the advice to not hesitate to go for it; no time for warming-up, party mode on from start. well, challange accepted! 
i decided to open with my own track ‘live and let live’ by souls of misschief (sucre. rework ft. maarten emanuel) and selected some classics by @armandvanhelden and @tim-deluxe-official. i also got to play my newest track ‘are you using me’ by luther vandross (sucre. rework), from which you can find a little video about how we made it on my instagram page. 

it was an amazing experience to have a big stage like amstelveld getting packed while playing a set. it was fun to see how the music fitted the vibe perfectly, it made me feel so proud and the crowd was dancing and celebrating during the entire set! my pride couldn’t get any better than this. thank you for having me and dancing with me. looking forward till’ we meet again! 🥰

😍 it is happening, sucre. will be closing ‘the basement’ during dutch decompression ‘artifision’ this year!! 🔥

to be able to play a set during an @burningmannl edition means a lot to me. 🥰
this year, i had the great pleasure to visit their @wherethesheepsleep for the first time. it is safe to say that i totally understand (and that’s an understatement) what the ‘post burn blues’ means; 🥺♥️ as it left me impressed how peacefully, sincerely polite and caretaking the burners were and acted to each other. those sweet people granted me to go from supporting my friend backstage (i was literally was dancing behind him on stage) playin’ burningmanbelgiums’ stage as sucre.! their tribe was so enthusiastic about my music and kind to me that i decided to stay at the festival while my friends were leaving which enabled me to play a little longer for them. it was like a dream coming true… the art, the vibe, the adventures, it was like a utopia. i had a swim in a submarine, met wonderful people, had great conversations, ate delicious food, had some nice drinks and ran into (close) friends and regulars from amsterdam nightlife. it kind of felt like coming home to me, mostly because these people and thus the community made me feel genuinely welcome from the first moment on. it got me real passionate and therefore to me it is an honour to close their house basement, as their new friend sucre.🔥

so dear burner people, get ready for a sweaty jackin’ house party from 04:00-05:30 a.m.! 🍬

also, it will be my debute @radionamsterdam too! it will be a night to remember and therefore @hommelsrutger and i decided to take things to another level, getting dressed up and ready to rumble by @nicksaan.kranck … 🎉

op een druilerige woensdagmiddag ergens in maart deelde patti mij mee dat ik zaterdag 29 juni vrij moest houden; sterker nog, sucre. stond al op de line-up!! 😂

ik kreeg de eer om ‘s middags te openen en ‘s avonds de closing set te draaien. maanden heb ik er naar uit gekeken! lekker plaatjes gezocht passend bij de setting (een uitdaging gezien wie de jarige joppies zijn, niet te voorspellen eigenlijk hoe zoiets uitpakt 🤣). 
het ging me eigenlijk best af en in de loop van de maanden had ik genoeg ideeën en inspiratie opgedaan! 🤓

eindelijk was het dan zover, die zomerse zaterdag in juni. 
het betekende ook mijn debuut op het (nieuwe) ADM terrein, wat ik niet beter kan omschrijven als een weelderig mini-dorpje met wilde tuin, ateliers, eten&drinken, artistieke architectuur, kunst, muziek en vrolijke positieve vibes. ☮️

het was zo geniaal hoe jong&oud als een grote club het feestje bouwden met elkaar, loesoe op de dansvloer, dolle gesprekken en nieuwe vrienden. helemaal top! 🥳

beleef die zwoele middag vooral nog een keertje! dit is de opname van mijn set begin van de middag: vol met disco, house en jackin’ gekkigheid. 😼

hi there,
last weekend i felt like spinnin’ them wheels again, 
which meant that i had to throw some organizational skills into business! 
after upgrading the dj-booth with my turntable, 
it finally was time to dust-off my precious vinyl collection.
it consists oldskool undergound jackin’ house, rominimal house, oldskool house, minimal house, disco, funky house, powerhouse and more...
although i learnt myself the basis in some sessions last year, sucre. only began practising on daily bases from last march, starting right after celebrating @vbx-nu's memorable bday weekender.
this one-way ticket to get dazzled by peculiar sounds and unforgettable rendez-vouses meant some candy for the ear and the mind, which i would describe as 'state-of-the-art' enchanting 'hobgoblin'-kind of house, 
straight from an certain magical underground;
well-selected and slickly mixed into one mayor bad-ass fairytale by those minimal masters.
it left me outermost determined to understand and master the art, asap!
as fired-up i was, it took me less than a while to get the hang of it… and man, how i love that feeling of competence and joy of learning somethin’ new,
becoming more and more hyped, skilled and foremost persuaded to chef this matter out.
this particular vinylpractisejam is a loooong one, full of high-end music, ￼of which most of them are over 20 years old…

to begin with, my new years' wishes for all of you would be the sweetest, mischievous and most of al affectionate yet fulfilled 2025.
as i am a true expert by experience in the field (not to be confused with jerkinism s.v.p.), i assume that all those wishes and ‘good intentions’ are a ‘reflection’ of peoples’ dubious, or at least, questionable self-consciousness... but who said they're no good?…
...as nye is right behind us it is time to wrap all of this up; coming straight to the point where i’m firmly wishing all' of you them prayers mentioned above come true.
and check this out: the’re may are coming 10 more of them desires your way, if you come up with some proper ideas -within 15 seconds, ofc. (...)
however.. to me, being invited to play this 2h opening set at the legendary 'confetteria' party (or better explained as this phenomenal affair), felt more than an honour and major compliment of these same underground chiefs who brought me my dear debute @capsulerecordings’ first rave of summer '23. moreover, one told me that the music i played, took him back to the moment he started dj'ing.. him sharing this blissful memory of pure joy with me, just because of the tracks i selected… well, these feelings mean the world to me, as in the end, THAT'S what it is all about, right? house music was born to set friendly bounds over non-understandable conflicts and connects them souls, by dancing, smiling, and most of all, sharing their groove driven by chunky beats and cheeky hats.. anyhow, thank you for following me during my journey so far, and also for those who are made their sweet acquaintances only recently.
especially as my sharing is beyond acknowledgement, it takes some proper ass to dive into this sucre. approach regarding this kinda 'under-the-radar'- modus-operandi.
thus, as sucre. proudly endeavours being a flowerpower ambassador, with outermost enthusiasm and great respect the invitation to open confetteria: 'vive la nostalgie ~ chic & magnifique ~ anniversaire dixième' was accepted.
attention, attention les capitaine and les dammes; une petit piece-peux of candy showed some determinatión to deliver un punchy trip down friendly underground lanes, promising nothing to expect than a fine selection dug-up straight from the good oll' days, resembling underground aux un flourish touch!
as a result, it all ended up mixing 34 tracks, dragged out a variety of never-ending jams played in the past while unveiling some brand spanking-new unreleased sucre. tracks... 😼
unfortunately, the recording isn’t as clean as you should expect from sucre.; which is an obvious consequence for sleazy risks which were taken, e.g. running out of time, match-doubts, being fixed on certain tracks i had to find, some rough looping (fyi: quick-fixed), accompanied with sometimes slightly sloppy counting... but guess what. it turned out to be the perfect mix 'n match...!!😍 i never had such an experience before, playing a packed room this size, full of dressed-up handsome folks. time did not exist, and suddenly i was realising that this intense feeling of happiness took over my body and mind, while it seemed like i was playin' this never ending mix... ∞
while noticing i was surrounded by people who are really dear to me, i had the pleasure of catching faces expressing indulgence in its’ purest form.
well.. i simply adored it, and hearing some of my fav' slappy beats at this fancy, well-established soirée totally knocked it off. together we celebrated the arrivé of a fresh and friendly 2025, whilst covered in jackin' style confetti decadence... ✮✶𝄪
i wish you all one of a more fortunate, healthy & housy new year, topped with loads of glitter and sweet love..!! ❣

my appearance at sous du bois's @marcoaurelioxxx radioshow came as an true valentines' gift; friday 14th late afternoon i got notified about this peculiar shift. 🧐
'high energetic house' was mentioned, 
not to forget about the 'go with the flow' kinda thang, so was said. 😼
after being covered in 'amor-mexican' at this cozy establishment called 'cabron',
accompanied by my hubs i moved my ass @amsterdamsmostwanted while covered in corazon. 💞
obviously, my set would be love-themed all over it,
thus i started with my own 'love is', our heartfelt #timdeluxe sucre. edit. 💕
beforehand, an one-hour set was asked for,
and while i was playing neither time nor place existed anymore. 🌪
each track asked for a match and before i knew over two hours flew by,
(..fyi: it happens to me all the time during playin' sets at home until sun shows up..🤭)

hahah no shit., ofcourse i am jokin' (not joking!!🤪).. and so i decided:

met grote vreugde en een brede lach gaan we er weer voor @ Loods12!! 😍
nog een nachtje slapen en we gaan helemaal los: ClubNL & Club Heart staan te popelen om menig house-hart sneller te laten kloppen door ons onder te dompelen in een avondje uit zoals het hóórt: enthousiaste dj’s, échte house, bekende gezichten, nieuwe vrienden, een dansvloer waar men U tegen zegt en vooral: een mega goede sfeer waar iedere ziel nog ellenlang van zal nagenieten. gegarandeerd. 😼

with sucre. around, the crowd will be dancing and smiling non-stop. that’s because everyone loves sucre.

'my mission is to make people dance and smile on house music. next to mix ‘n match my fav’ records (fyi: also them vinyls 🤙🏽) & dancing around the decks, me and my hubby produce our own sucre. tracks, sampling oldskool hiphop, jazz & disco gems. expect some real underground mischievous beats with a flourish touch, as it's my ultimate goal to take the audience on a happy musical journey, leaving nothing but energy and bliss on the dancefloor.
