from which I encountered its raw version in my hubs dusty collection.
it appeared to be an old project from over 12 years ago,
which was in desperate need for some sucre.
who would ever thought that this would be the one,
the first ever sucre. track we would finish!

sometime during last summer i was deejaying at this party,
where i decided to play Love Hate by Ricardo Volilobe.
it appeared to be a remix of Hate It Or Love It by 50 cent and The Game,
who used a sample of the track Rubber Band by the Trammps.
the crowd simply loved it thanks to its catchy melody
and suddenly, i felt the remix could use some sucre. 😼

we decided to build our own club in this so-called barn,
and we got blown away by the sound in there.
we figured it created the perfect mood & space to create some music,
and while doin’ so we stumbled across an old project aged over 10 years!
standing* behind the decks at our rave-cave really got me into it,
resulting in this cheeky housy track.

while i was minding my own business, 
i caught a 'bass line so dope that you just might choke'. 🔥
the track involved, Doin' Our Own Dang by The Jungle Brothers,
instantly got us inspired to make a track... 

Our friend Maarten Emanuel (@maartenemanuel) recorded the bassline on his 1964 pre-cbs Fender precision bass. The bass went through a tube amp with a light overdrive and was compressed with a 1176 compressor.

fyi: the part about choking on the bassline isn't how i usually talk,
but it's part of the original song and also a part of the sucre.

this is one of my favourite tracks,
based on 2Pac's do for love.
the moment i heard the song there was something special to it,
and therefore we decided to give it some valentine coated sucre. attention. 
did you know the original sample comes from Bobby Caldwell's what you won't do for love?
well, i simply love the track, 
it is sweet and cute but also funky and housy!
I sincerely hope you adore it too.

once upon a time we were on holiday to a place where i always get inspired,
'cause they mainly play disco, jazz and soulful house over there.
while i was enjoying my breakfast, Tim Deluxe's 'LOVE is' came on,
with its emotional sax riff, impressive jazzy sound and touching lyrics.
it was kind of overwhelming, the way the song affected me....
i immediately knew this meant something special;
as i stumbled on this track one week earlier, 
while we were looking into some producers from 'back in the day'.
it was meant to be, pouring some sucre. on this track.
for me, love is being able to share your greatest passion with those who love it too.

this track is something special, not only because of its lyrics,
but also because our homie @maartenemanuel took part in it.

Instead of using synthesizers for the bassline,
we found out that we have a friend who can do a way better job.

being surrounded by friends who support me,  
discovering huge talent amongst it who wants to take part in the sucre.;
