An illustrious career stretching over two decades has seen Chico Shuella become one of Israel’s most respected and sought after DJs and producers. Operating under his Chicola production moniker, he has transformed the underground house scene in his homeland while making giant strides on a global scale.

2015 is set to advance Chicola’s production skills as his continued relationship with Sudbeat will see a further EPs on the label in both solo and collaborative guise. Furthermore, a debut on Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank will undoubtedly cement a rapidly growing reputation.

'Shika' is the title track of this excellent EP, and showcases the excellent groove that Chicola conjures up. His musical elements merge wonderfully the warmth, with the shoulder-swaying vibe, as this sophisticated voyage unfurls.

'Tren De Pensamientos' is a deep and hypnotic workout, with its undulating and groovy effects, melting with a wash of tones, sampled cut up speech and clever effects absorbing in to its wondrous journey.

Viking DJ, producer and all round nice guy Sonic Union cements himself into the studio with Chicola for this third track 'Cold Fact', and they produce a solid a wordily slab of filthiness, an expedition full of swagger with its intricate layers fusing a soundscape of glory.

Ottawa’s Jokers Of The Scene made the leap from party DJs to producers simply by working with what they knew best: the most mind-meltingly intense parts of dance music throughout history, from ecstatic big room house buildups to hyper-distorted electro basslines and the lighthearted samples of 90s techno, all thrown in a blender at 130 BPM. Frankyeffe will step up to the big leagues next month, as Riot Recordings drop his debut album, Trenta, on November 9th.

Promising to be an intimate affair, the 16-track effort features the vocals of fellow Italian, Phil, and will offer a range of "melody-driven techno and electronica" according to the press release.

"I wanted to add to my sound palette," says Frankyeffe. "Different genres and sounds that I hadn’t tackled before but that I’d been thinking about for some time. ‘Trenta’ felt like the right moment to set myself new challenges. These types of sound have always fascinated me, I have always loved melodies fused with electronics and it was great to be able to broaden my cultural and musical knowledge."

Having been on the scene for over a decade, Wehbba has actually released a ridiculous amount of music. Labels like Tronic, 82 Recordings and Systematic have acted as a home for the artist but his forthcoming work on Padley's is some of our favourite to date.

The title track does the business but fellow Brazilian ANNA has served up the remix and it's more of the excellent same we've come to expect from the chart-topping producer. ANNA's seemingly got the golden touch and when she's not climbing the Beatport charts she's getting booked all over the world.

The illustrious fifth edition of Selador's Showcase series is an altogether heavyweight affair featuring a whole host of electronic music’s big hitters. For many of this all-star cast it also constitutes a baptism of sorts as we welcome them to the label ahead of fully blown releases down the line. So without further ado, let us introduce you to the runners and riders..

The first of our contenders pairs one of the label’s mainstays, our boy Quivver, with another legend of the scene, Funk D Void for a rather special collaboration. Together they deliver ’Dual State’, an assured piece of bass heavy electronic goodness that only 5 decades worth of combined experience can yield. Look out y’all, master craftsmen at work.

Next up we welcome Florian Kruse to the fold. The German’s stock has been on the rise recently with releases on Suara, Green & Noir and now he graces Selador with his own special brand of Melodic Techno. ‘Homebound’ is a sure-fire winner if ever we’ve heard one. Top marks. 

Our old friend Stelios Vassiloudis is also riding high on a hot streak right now off the back of releases on Bedrock & Poker Flat and here he continues that rich vein of form with the deep, darkness of ‘Burn’. Modernistic and menacing, this is music from the edge. Badass. 

Another good friend of the label, our favourite Spaniard, Affkt is next in line with the stirring ‘Cliff’. 
Underpinned by an effervescent string motif and taut arrangement, it growls and fizzes it’s way through an intensive workout. On point. 

From Spain we head across the border to France where Acumen picks up the baton for the first time on Selador with ‘Ici Ou Allieurs’. A rousing affair bursting with energy and attitude, this is just a taste of what’s to come from the Frenchman on Selador. Stellar work 

Jamie Stevens is next to join the party with a slice off electronic sophistication like only he knows how. Discerning and restrained, this is an elegant creation that deserves your undivided attention. The devil is in the detail. Outstanding. 

And finally, to close off in style we welcome Flowers & Sea Creatures. The duo have been a firm favourite here at Selador for several years with Dave Seaman even including them on his Renaissance Masters compilation as far back as 2011. Here they serve up the irresistible ‘Blades Nocturne’, a work of delicate beauty delivered in their own inimitable style. Exquisite.

Koala begins where Ginger ends. Having the same organic drum vibe, Koala will take you further on a trip trough the desert. Mesmerizing long pad sounds, dancing around you like belly-dancers. A catchy piano riff is backing up the soundscapes, and will bring every listener into a deep trance without loosing the groove.

Wasabi can be seen as the definition of “best of both worlds”. It combines the hypnotizing elements from Koala together with the organic percussion and peak-time melodies from Ginger, blending it into one piece of art.
