Notamous, Will Daley - Cloud Garden (Original Mix)

An Argentinean artist raising a storm through his ever-growing body of production work, Nicolas Rada, continues to cause a stir in his home country and beyond. As he returns to Particles with a brand-new EP, the Russian themed, "Sheremetyevo" is a welcome arrival.

An accomplished musician, Nicolas Rada grew up in the bustling Buenos Aries capital, studying piano and with a passion for percussion. Maturing over time, Rada began to experiment in the multi-faceted electronic musical form, taking his audio cues from UK act, Radiohead, and the audio experimentations that became a staple feature of the band's work. Further inspired by underground DJs including Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Stephan Bodzin, the Nicolas Rada production sound began to emerge from a melting pot of ideas and influences, taking on elements of progressive, tech and deep house with a dash of techno seasoning.

A 2007 debut for BIT Records Mexico laid the foundations for Rada to develop his sound as he and fellow Argentinean, Nicholas Van Orton performed in clubs and pubs across the country. A raft of further work for the likes of Majestic Family, Superordinate Music and Soundteller, has followed in the intervening years but it with the Balkan Connection family of labels and the Van Orton owned, South American variant, that Rada is particularly known. Thus, over a century of production credits have graced the Balkan Connection name with an abundance of work for the BCSA imprint. Indeed, the December 2015 full-length debut album, "Air Ports" was a notable highlight in amongst legion original EPs and multiple remixes for the likes of Robert R. Hardy, Deepfunk and Van Orton himself.

Work for Particles is centred around October 2016's "Yaroun" EP including a remix from the iconic Italian artist, Andrea Cassino, while Rada remixed Simos Tagias' "Airlock" in May 2017. As he now returns to the label with the twin-track, "Sheremetyevo", the title track itself is a wondrous melange of rhythm and melody, imbued with Rada's characteristic percussive flair and melodic enterprise. A seismic kick keeps the track in check and luscious pads form a foundation for a pitched lead-line to shift across the sonic spectrum. Combined with a cleverly cadenced motif, the rhythmic explosion in the third movement sees the track burst into life.

Partner track, "One-One Eleven Thousand" oozes class with is bouncing bass groove, dynamic percussive urgency and machine-sounding artificial voice effect. Providing a hypnotic bed for melodic elements to emerge, a shimmering arpeggio filters into listener consciousness with a bright and pulsing counterpoint motif providing the perfect accompaniment. Rising and falling with veritable ease across the duration of the track, Rada's skill and technique is in full evidence.

With a pair of new tracks to his name, Nicolas Rada is certain to see his career take-off further via "Sheremetyevo".

Ezequiel Arias has been one of 2017's most pleasant surprises. A staple in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Argentinean artist also owns releases on Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Now making his much anticipated Replug debut Ezequiel presents some of his best ever work with ‘Spaceless’. Following the ethos of the collection we're welcomed with a warm, rolling groove and wispy atmospherics. Airy swells, delicate tones and dulcet chord changes deliver an exquisite first act. A wonderfully crafted break elevates the mood once more; elegant and a touch cinematic, it sets up a groovy, percussive drop that's sure to be magic on your dance floor.

For our 136th chapter, we head home to host the considerable studio craft of Buenos Aires- based Paul Deep for the incredible three track Jiren EP. 

Opening with the tough driving sounds of title track, ‘Jiren’ Paul sets the bar high. Grooving from the first bar with percussive power, pads open up the track slowly revealing it’s full sweaty 4am glory after the break. ‘Channeling’ is equally gritty and percussive from the off. Driven by a powerful low end growl this is late night mind music at its finest culminating in an epic beatless break and indistinguishable male ramblings. Rounding out this triptych of treats is ‘Sentimentalism’, a deeper groove that before but no less dancefloor effective. Emotive and musical, it is the perfect finale to provide counterpoint to other more visceral, meaty tracks.

Sudbeat is always busy looking for the cream of the progressive scene and none typifies that than our latest debutant, Sebastian Busto with three uniquely transcendent tracks that make up the Ipanema EP. 

Classically trained as a teenager, Argentinian Sebastian Busto marries his love of melody and emotion with old school sensibility and passionate studiocraft. Moving from the rock world to dance music in 2014, he has carved out a special place in our industry and his debut release on The Soundgarden in January really cemented him as one of the rising new producers around.   

Musically rich and sonically diverse, lead track ‘Ipanema’ powers into life with an emotive tribal feel. Deep and enveloping, the rubbery bass and crisp percussion perfectly house the carefully placed fx and melodies making this a warm and beguiling addition to our back catalogue. Next up, ‘Zodiac’ toughens up the vibe while keeping its roots firmly in the deep prog style. More bass-driven it works perfectly for those pre-peak moments thanks to some epic synth action. Finally, ‘Chimera’ fights its way to the dancefloor with bullish energy. Bristling with low-end fury, the melody acts as a delicate counterbalance expertly juxtaposing light and dark.

Returning to Sudbeat after his amazing debut last year is Memory with a dynamite two-tracker remixed by Kevin Di Serna. 

Argentinian-born Matias Gonzalez aka Memory began his musical journey in balmy Buenos Aires before moving to Italy several years ago. His dance floor-focused grooves and ear for melody have found favour with a growing list of music lovers and high profile fans including Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and other members of the progressive posse. Given the high quality of his sound, it won’t be long before Memory is on everybody’s lips. 

After something of a hiatus, the opening track, ‘Surrender’ continues from where the Dysnomia EP left off: glacial melodies and warm summery grooves greet us with joyful self awareness. Subtly tribal in nature the gallop of the percussion sections drive the track forward with consummate ease, never in a rush, never at a loss. 

The second original, ‘Hygee’ intensifies the energy with a deep, growling low-end fury. Darkly satisfying, Bladerunner-esque sweeps keep things mysterious as the groove grows with layers of percussive menace, leading to a glorious payoff of epic proportions. On remix duties, self-confessed superfan, Kevin Di Serna  gives ‘Surrender’ a dirtier, bass-led rerub with devastating results.
