An artist with a steadily evolving body of work and ever-growing fanbase, Sebastian Sellares continues to chart a path to the upper echelons of the underground dance scene. Now making his Proportion debut, he delivers the twin-track “Renaissance” EP.

From his home in the foothills of the Sierras Chicas, Sebastian Sellares has witnessed an unstoppable rise to prominence. An accomplished guitarist from an early age with a particular focus on rock and metal, Sebastian was ultimately drawn to electronic music with a penchant for luscious melodies and deep rhythmic grooves. A regular across the clubs of his Córdoba home, a production career in tandem quickly shone a light on a complementary set of skills.

A plethora of high-class releases quickly followed with a century of tracks finding their way onto such esteemed imprints as Anjunadeep, Proton Music, GMJ & Matter’s Meanwhile and Cid Inc.’s Replug, the latter in collaboration with fellow countryman, Ezequiel Arias. Thus, through a growing portfolio of original and remix production work, Sebastian has become a sought after and in-demand artist.

Now making a first appearance on Proportion, Sebastian Sellares delivers a twin-track EP of the highest calibre. Redolent in rich melodic tapestry and dynamic rhythms that have become a staple of his work, “Renaissance” is a glorious offering that lilts effortlessly via rolling groove and ticking hi-hats. A rumbling bassline sequence creates syncopated synergy as expertly placed and stereo-panned effects add to the dense atmosphere. Elegant melodies emerge into the second movement and breakdown as they tumble and cascade over each other in beautiful aural patterns. Hitting its stride once more in the second half, emotive string phrases and delicately pulsating synths add even greater depth in a track that finds the Argentinean at the height of his production powers.

Partner track, “The Blitz” immediately excites with its subtle bouncing bassline energy and ticking percussive groove. Immaculately placed synth phrasing provides dancefloor dynamism as a sweeping analogue synth line imprints itself on the listener’s consciousness. Rising and falling with club-friendly ease, a cadenced synth line builds in energy, mirroring the bassline beneath before twinkling keys provide a moment of exquisite beauty. As the track drops back into its stride once more in the latter stages, bass prowess and melodic majesty combine in mesmerising fashion.

Taking the rebirth of modern progressive house to new heights, Sebastian Sellares is a true “Renaissance” artist.

Making his debut on the label, Clyve joins us with a classy double header. 

Hailing from the island of Malta, Clyve is no stranger to the sounds of electronic music. Breaking onto the scene at the turn of the century as a techno DJ, his tastes have matured in recent times towards a more melodic style. His productions have started to make waves on the scene since 2021, and he’s quickly found his footing with releases on Plattenbank, Mango Alley and more, proving that he’s an artist with a lot to say who lets the music do his talking.

His first EP on Sudbeat opens with ‘Lights at Night’. Deeply intricate and ultimately satisfying, much like his incendiary DJ sets, a considered build up and subtle melodics have made this a secret weapon in progressive house dance floors for many months already.

‘Mirage in a Cloud’ rallies to round out the pack with aplomb. Wildly danceable and more upbeat than its partner, the percussive underbelly acts as the perfect framework for orchestral lines, arps and vocal adlibs. A fitting end of the night rabble-rouser of a tune.

Luke Brancaccio & Gai Barone continue their successful collaboration making their debut on the label with two more monster tracks.

Many musical duos and double acts thrive in the underground the scene, including Hernan playing back to back performances with UKs Nick Warren and the legendary Sasha and John Digweed. Two heads are always better than one, and this have never been truer than for Luke Brancaccio and Gai Barone, who, separately, have soundtracked our scene for many years. Together, their music graces the back catalogues of everyone from seminal labels like Bedrock and Selador right through to new imprints such as Music To Die For.

'Until the End' is classically progressive with swinging beats, huge orchestral swells and epic e-moments aplenty. Building towards the first break, the music reaches fever-pitch before dubbing out in the mid section. After the oasis-like middle, energy ramps up for the epic finale. 'Memory Child' starts off in a deep place. Spiky bass stabs and shimmering percussions pick up pace. Aquatic sonics and soft female vocals add sophistication as the track builds energy. The wonderful VONDA7 joins the Sudbeat family with a new single and get the remix treatment from Alex O'Rion and Graziano Raffa. Let's know more about what's behind 'Perception'.

VONDA7's story is one of realising your dreams through determination, tenacity and hard work. Growing up on a mish mash of sounds, finding French House and then Techno transformed this Polish artists life forever. 

Attending SAE Amsterdam began her journey towards a living her dream which now sees her transformed into a savvy buisnesswoman who juggles DJing, producing and label owning with consummate ease. Signed already to a wide array of imprints from Sasha's LNOE to Sian's Octopus Recordings, VONDA7's sound defies pigeonholing, making her all the more exciting. 

Opening with low-slung bubbly acid, and twickling arps, 'Perception' in orginal form is aimed squarely at the peak time floor. Crisp percussion keeps time while the sparkling synths start to weave their magic. The main break serves as a quieting before those arps go into overdrive in the secord half. 

First up of remix duties, Alex O'Rion adds his considerable studio skill to the mix with a deep, early morning vibe perfect for an Ibizan sunrise. Straight after, Graziano Raffa takes the original motifs and applies his Italian charm creating a smooth uptempo ride with the repeating arp wrapped around the beat while frequencies of Reese bass roar from the bottom.
