roku opens the new year with a fresh collaboration from label boss @DaLuka and rising talent @ElectricDada. Hailing from Albania, Da Luka emerged from his country's electronic music landscape just over a decade ago. Whether operating in solo capacity or alongside occasional production partner Jorgio Kioris, Da Luka's creative vision would summon the praise of progressive music tastemakers Cid Inc, Guy J, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and more, in turn leading to releases via Droid9, Juicebox Music, Movement Recordings and WARPP. Choosing his projects wisely across 2023, the year would prove to be impactful for the Berat resident, with the formation and subsequent success of roku, along with key releases via Electronic Groove and Mango Alley. Meanwhile, made up of German artists Jan de Vice and JP Silence, the Electric Dada alias was revealed to the world in 2020. The duo's progressive style was immediately recognized for its emotive qualities and strong dancefloor sensibility. A transcendent sound which would see them go on to release key projects via Clubsonica, Dopamine White, Massive Harmony and Univack, while also earning praise from the underground's premiere tastemakers. Having been paired together once previously for a release via Electronic Groove, Da Luka and Electric Dada combine their extensive forces once again, getting 2024 off to a strong start with ‘Rubicon', alongside remixes from @Subandrio and @FortyCats

First appearing on Meanwhile in mid-2023 with a 3-track extravaganza of epic proportions, Tantum now returns to the label with another musical triptych in the shape of "Contact High / This is Real / Scatter". A production career that began with a high-profile debut on EIN2, German producer, Tantum, has made a name for himself blurring the boundaries between progressive house and melodic techno. Subsequent releases for Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and Guy J's Lost & Found have put Tantum firmly on the underground dance map. May 2023's "Secondary / Suan Pan / Narko" was a notable highlight on GMJ & Matter's imprint, while a remix of the duo's "Time to Space" a few months later showcased another side to his production credentials. Opening the EP, "Contact High" is a chunky rhythmic jewel that glistens with iridescent light as reversed melodies and rippling arpeggio build powerfully against a driving dancefloor beat and body-swaying percussive groove. Hypnotic and vibrant, a rasping bassline and pitched oscillator motif create a mesmerising intensity that builds through the breakdown before dropping back into the club-ready groove in the second half. The aptly titled "Scatter" impresses with its angular beats and liberally placed fragmented effects. Muted arpeggios and mid-range motifs infuse the middle sections as a searing glissando lead line rises and falls with analogue-filtered intensity. The combination of melody at the breakdown then heralds the arrival of the dominant kick to regain rhythmic vitality in the third movement. The final track sees "This is Real" delight with hits wood-block percussive cadence and syncopated bass sequence. Revelling in an array of complementary synth lines, pitched oscillators create an easy free-flowing character that is both innovative and dynamic. Weaving gently throughout in coruscating patterns, it builds intensity as the rhythmic gravitas hits its heights post-breakdown to inspiring and striking effect.

Sound Avenue continues a strong summer season by welcoming Diego Moreira back to the label for his debut EP. First emerging as a DJ in 2009, Argentinian artist Diego Moreira would establish himself across his countries vibrant progressive house scene, performing alongside Antrim, Ezequiel Arias, Graziano Raffa, Mariano Mellino, Mike Griego, Nick Muir and Sound Avenue label boss Madloch, amongst others. Highly regarded for his impeccable taste and smooth programming skills, it was 2018 that would see Diego make his debut as producer. On the strength of early tracks 'Tina' and 'Nomis', Diego would go on a five-year creative swell, recording standout projects for 3rd Avenue, Late Night Music and Sudbeat, in turn earning the praise of Hernan Cattaneo, Jamie Stevens, Nick Warren and Solomun. May of this year would mark Diego's Sound Avenue debut, one where the Cordoba resident put a dark progressive spin on 'A Fading Dream' by Madloch and Sudnode. Now, presenting his first original project for the label, Diego returns to Sound Avenue with 'Feeling', alongside remixes from EANP, FJL and Mckeown & Bassiray.
