The title song starts off the album with the phrase "The Life that I'm living is the life that I'm loving...and I wouldn't trade it for nothing." It then kicks into gear with a one-drop reggae beat. Layers of guitars, keyboards and percussion are complimented by a dreamy horn section which sets up the rest of the song. Antoine goes on to sing his own style of "California Soul" laying out his typical day and how it is important to never take it for granted. The song builds into lush, sing-a-long choruses complete with gospel tinged back-up vocals and a sax solo leading into the break-down. The song is reminiscent of Toots and the Maytals mixed with a modern, California flair.
