Sydney trailblazer Basenji unleashes his first official remix, offering a new twist on the second single, Foolin’ from best coast beat-creature Sable.
 
On Foolin’, Basenji flips the hyperactive bounce of the original into a more chilled affair, holding tight to the 1am groove.  The remix bumps in all the right places, and is out now for FREE through fresh-faced, Perth-based label Pilerats Records.

Sharing tracks (and animal based namesakes) before anybody really knew who they were, both producers have torn up the JJJ charts, and jetted all over the island paradise we call home, consistently blowing the minds of club kids along all four corners.

Perth-based computer music wizard, Sable only crawled out of his forest studio a few short months ago, but has already torn up the triple j charts with the infectious single Feels So Good. 

Fresh off of his 5-track debut EP released earlier this month and with a string of national tour dates under his belt, Sable has also been announced as the only WA act on the Splendour In The Grass line-up.

23: 23-Letters

Those of you with an appetite for 1950's leaning dream-pop will be aware that earlier this year we re-released a trio of albums from Delay Trees frontman Rami Vierula issued under his 23:23 moniker. Now officially known as the 23:23 Album Trilogy, the releases from 2012-2104 offered a great insight into Rami's nocturnal activities.

With Delay Trees on a short hiatus a suitable void has been filled. It's with great pleasure that Soliti announces new material from 23:23 in the form of TO DIE ON A FARAWAY ISLAND WITH YOU EP (Soliti 045) to be released early October 2015.

As a first taster​ from the new EP, we bring you Letters, which find's Rami in duet mode. Ringa Manner (The Hearing, Pintandwefall) provides a suitable foil to Rami's longing for his unanswered letters, "Boy you should listen up now, i don’t want to be mean​"​. A fuzzy guitar noise of longing and sweet interchanges makes Letters all the more involving.  Yes, this could be the dream-pop like Nancy & Lee we've been waiting for all our lives.

Hercules & Love Affair return to the fray with Controller, a pulsing, propulsive new song that signals the first salvo from their long-awaited new album. Featuring The Horrors’ Faris Badwan on vocals, it takes the Hercules’ disco-house heritage and fuses it with starker more experimental stylings.

A taster both sonically and aesthetically of the new album, 'Controller' connects new wave, post-punk and 80s electro within the clubland realm of Hercules & Love Affair. Hearing the The Horrors’ live version of Frankie Knuckles & Jamie Principle’s ‘Your Love’, Andy realised he’d found a rock artist willing to engage with dance culture's history.  With its underbelly of seamy ‘80s electro-pop, Controller’s sub-dom, master-and-servant roleplay in the lyrics work perfectly with Faris vocals delivery creating something rather special.
