I have been spending time painting recently due to ongoing spinal injuries  and more surgery recently that has affected my ability to play many instruments.
Hopefully, I will get to try out a handcrafted harp made by a family wood artisan.  I would love to collaborate with creative musical projects in the recording domain. However, I never say never and hope to be able to finish some musical ideas as soon as everything calms down and heals as much as possible. 😊 Fingers crossed. The soundtrack multimedia, etc. project of former GOTHIC FARMYARD, (circa early youthful 1980s) drummer-instrumentalist, Xristo Russell, and other pseudonyms over the past 45ys. My ongoing project is Xtrobitz, with occasional contributions from other musicians, which is more fun. My involvement in other bands from the past:  Blackwater (70s), Gothic Farmyard, Moonshots (King Jerklews), KKlux Frankenstein, The Delightfuls blues band, Bronwyn Johnson Blues band, etc, Electronic music Mr Megatron, Tin Ears. 
Many recording contributions, mainly drums for hire, and I record on my new Roland TD27KV2 now. The acoustic gear is packed away, Etc. Xtrobitz music project includes fragmented guitar, keyboard soundscapes, and rhythms to help propel this set of instrumentals, short soundtracks, and snapshots.  I give my best shot for amusement these days.

Xristo C. Russell - Multimedia and Soundtrack project.

Here lies the first four albums by Dear Light; 'Dear Light' (2010), 'Sternenfall' (2011), 'The Observer' (2011) and 'Shepherd Moon' (2012). 

A mighty 40-song (quadruple?) album entitled 'Broken Hymns' is currently being worked on - I started this in January 2013 and i'm going to stop setting any deadlines...so much to do, but it's already sounding rather special. 

It is likely that three further albums 'And We Won't Fear' (2015), 'But Still And All' (2016) and 'Galilean Ships' (2018) will all find their way to the finish line ahead of the weighty, but beautiful,  Broken Hymns.

The Flaming Lips' 'Soft Bulletin', Spiritualized's 'Ladies and Gentlemen, we are floating in space' and Mercury Rev's 'Deserter's Songs' were all released during my formative years - and the line they dance between grandeur and intimacy is a dance I also gladly do. 

Other influences are present and correct; Judee Sill, Leon Russell, Robert Wyatt, Elliott Smith, Harry Nilsson, Leonard Cohen, Roy Orbison, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Delius, The Carpenters, Arvo Pärt, Jimmy Webb, The Beatles, Popol Vuh, Chris Bell, Gavin Bryars. 

All songs, instruments and production by Philip Collings apart from vocals on 'Come to the Light' by Sue Collings (my mum!) All the songs have been recorded at home and mixed on headphones, so they're probably best heard through such a listening device.

The Gin Birkins are superfuzz lovers recording woozy reverb-drenched bedroom pop that stumbles through Psychedelia, Grunge, Yé-yé and Shoegaze...and emerges blinking into the light, doused in glitter and soaked in gin.
