"I felt compelled to make this mix during my mandatory hotel isolation period, depicting certain moods I was flowing in between; reflective, sensual, longing, hope... suspended in time. The tracks are very special to me and remind me mostly of missing loved ones. I really wanted to focus on speech and lyric - especially female vocals. The mix is actually a vessel for femine energy and some of what that represents to me. Snippets from the “100% Genuine” CD released on Rephlex records have been woven throughout the mix, a collection of real phone recordings from a dating agency."

@roza-terenzi aka. Katie Campbell, has escaped Berlin lockdown and is currently on the first leg of her NZ tour, starting with Beacon Festival in Auckland. 

She delivers us a pretty special mix for our 24th instalment in the series - a little more down-tempo and reminiscent of her iso-diaries while in NZ quarantine.

Australian alternative pop artist @sui-zhen returns with 'Sleepless', a meditation on grief and persevering through it. 

The track was first conceived in 2018 as a stream-of-consciousness response to her mother’s passing. The catharsis of musical improvisation served as a refuge, a way to navigate the fog of sleepless nights and immense pain.

Melbourne resident Sui Zhen’s ‘Female Basic’ showcases her own version of Japanese post-punk through a dreamy balaeric-bossanova filter. 

Having graduated from the Redbull Music Academy in London alongside the likes of Daisuke Tanabe & Andras Fox, Female Basic sees Sui Zhen move away from her previous beautiful bedroom-pop on to something more minimal and mysterious. Influenced as much by long sunny days spent in Osaka as nights in Shinjuku record stores hunting for Mariah & Dip in the Pool vinyl, Sui Zhen gives us the soundtrack for a slow-motion, late night disco found somewhere between Australia & Japan.

‘Body Reset’ sees Sui Zhen develop the music found in the Female Basic EP and move on to a new, retro-futuristic sound. This time influenced as much by late nights in Koenji, Tokyo as at an onsen/sauna in the mountains of Nagano, here Sui Zhen explores the resetting of both body and mind with 25 minutes of swelling synths, 808 beats and dreamy vocals.

Throughout her discography and performances, experimental pop and performance artist Sui Zhen has zoomed in on the intersections between human life and technology — how to exist in the digital age, as well as the ways in which we risk losing true sight of ourselves in the process. From the banal pastel dystopia of the Secretly Susan era music videos to the invention of Linda, a ghostly apparition who manifests in her latest LP, Losing, Linda – her cinematic, surreal and staged landscapes allow her unique take on pop music to sit within its own uncanny terrain.

Synthesizers, loops and abstract beats.  These are a few of my favorite things?  I am a strange breed, other worldly, and a super freak.   Cold wave, minimal techno, electro abstract, avant- hard, hardcore techno, break core, IDM, EBM, Death Rock, punk Rock, New Wave,Dark Wave, Ambient, MiamiBootyBase, SpeedBase, Dub, RagaMuffin, Dubstep, Industrial, Noise, Experimental, world beat...did I forget anything?  Neophyte, for sure, and these are all my newly found treasures, that I have dug up from around the world.  One day I will produce some tracks again, until then, I will spend every minute listening to all the newly found gems!
