Call Me When You're Falling Down

This song came to me as a reaction to recent tragic events. 
Since the late 1980s Armenia and Azerbaijan have been fighting over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, known to Armenians as The Republic of Artsakh. My great great grandfather, Mikael Aramyants, was born in the region in 1843. 

On 27th September, the situation escalated with casualties increasing dramatically and hundreds of civilians on both sides having to flee their homes. Innocent people are losing their lives, loved ones and livelihoods. Surely there is a way to come to an agreement without bloodshed. Aggression is not the answer.

On 8th October the St. Ghazanchetsots Cathedral in Shushi was bombed and left severely damaged. Belgian Armenian cellist, Sevak Avanesyan, performed "Krunk" by Komitas in its ruins. Inspired by this, I wrote the following piece and made this video combining news clips and Sevak's cello performance.
